BJ was an O3 Captain in the US Army, while Commander is an O5 rank in the Navy. I have no idea why they called him Commander. I mean he was in charge of the naval vessel, but even if you're just an O1 Ensign in the Navy if you're in charge of a vessel you're the Captain of that vessel.

you know what my favorite part of wolfenstein is? The fact BJ Blaskowitz is the badass grandfather of galactic hero, Billy Keen, also known as Commander Keen, who is the ancestor of the greatest demon hunting badass in the universe, Doom Marine. Thats right, BJ's entire family line is genetically predispossitioned to be day saving badasses. Some with guns, some with ray guns, and some WITH BIG FUCKING GUNS. Greatest family tree ever.
