Wolfe finished top 9, after barely sleeping before day 1 (like 2h? He mentioned it in the end-of-day interview). I'm no stan, but I do admire how consistent his performances are in tournaments over the years.
Whenever we leave this man out of eyesight for 5 seconds he breaks the meta's knees with a steel chair and at this point it's not even a surprise we just know we should've kept a better eye on him 😂
@@BaalFridge ppl love clowning on Wolfey, mostly because he is so well recognized and whenever he doesn't win it all it's easy for ppl to jump on him. But this man can still play and whip up some crazy shit
@JRR31 ive been following Wolfey since his first tournament shakeups before he even was World Champ we nicknamed him "future world champ" unironically
@@tomwanders6022 In singles, maybe not because it gives Toadscruel 2 turns to hit enemy guarantee if its faster naturally (You put enemy to sleep after you are hit, provided you survive, then it means on the next turn the enemy has yet to have 1st turn of sleep so you have guaranteed hit No.1. On 2nd turn you hit it again because it was not able to wake up previously) but in VGC doubles format Toadscruel is better off putting enemy to sleep ASAP so that your team has to worry about single enemy move first. It also gives you a chance to completly prevent enemies from attacking if they swap poorly or if they keep having sleep turns and are slower then base 100 Toadscruel. You see Amoonguss works despite being slow because its bulky enough and has the option to run Regenerator ability to pivot out and be a nuisance again later on. Toadscruel is not so bulky but its very fast and outspeeds plenty of enemies in this format. Granted it will not outspeed Swift Swim/Unburden/Chlorophyll/Slush Rush/Quick Feet/Sand Rush pokemon if they have their abilities triggered and/or base 101+ speed BUT here's why Nuetralizing Gas comes to play from Weezing and helps Toadcruel being faster (except if enemy is still naturally faster or Scrafed). Toadcruel unique abillity allows it to put to sleep Gholdengo BUT if neither toadscruel nor Gholdengo has their abilities then the same is true except that Toascruel doesn't need to take a hit and puts the enemy to sleep first). Fast Spore is very scary and only grass type/Tera type and Safety googles or Safeguard/Misty Terrain/Electric Terrain can save you from it (with Terrains however, they'd need to be used manually as abilities will be turned off if Weezing is on the lead). TL;DR YES
I had someone do the weezing/toadscruel combo on me in ladder before Baltimore but they didn't go full offense weezing and I beat them pretty hard. This was the change their team needed to thrive lol
The Dragonite set you faced was loaded dice, played it in Orlando because after one scale shot it out speeds a flutter mane and one shots with iron head
