Like 99 percent of other channels you failed to mention the true reason Wolverines healing factor failed. They genetically altered cornstarch, which was put into food. This suppressed mutant genes, which ultimately led to his healing factor, almost rendered useless.

Yeah, I was waiting for him to say that but he never did which left me frustrated. And it’s not like it’s a one off line or not well known. I see everybody talking about it in the comments of videos like these and it was very well explained in the movie. Yea Logan says that the Adamantium was poisoning him but that’s probably something his healing factor could keep up with no problem. It was defiantly the genetically modified food

Funny because in the comicbooks he was immortal until newer writers wanted to change his story and decided he was no longer immortal but slow aging and his powers jist healed him no matter his injury then later it gets changed to his healing also slowing down because they dont like that he can come back from a small piece of meat.

@@Cosmicshambler The cure was created to suppresses the X-Gene. Logan does says that no new mutants had been born, but he also says he doesn’t know why. The cure in the movies is essentially the Hope serum, where using once suppresses X-Gene and Mutant effects in the user (and their offspring). His X-gene is suppressed which is why his aging accelerates and his healing deteriorates. Logan is the mutant most affected in the movie due to his adamantium poisoning problem agravating the issue further

Cancer is, at it's base, uncontrolled cell growth. Those cells are not normal cells though, and that's why they kill people. If they could make normal cells grow and reproduce like that physical aging would theoretically become a thing of the past.

@@thecowboy9698cancer, in a seriously basic explanation, is uncontrolled cellular division. New cells being made and replicating in an uncontrolled manner. Adamantium itself isn't poisonous. The fact that his body has been rejecting it was what made it poisonous. It's why surgical steel is made the way it is. It's poisonous to Logan because essentially, the steel is a foreign object infused with his bones. His healing factor keeps it in check. With the corn starch being altered, and it breaking down the mutant gene. It also affects Logan's healing factor. Making his blood treat the adamantium as a foreign object again, and fighting against it. Which is poisonous from within. I know that Bullseye also has Adamantium bones. They were refined differently from what I recall. Or more perfected. Guessing it's been refined to be in line with surgical steel so the body doesn't reject it. And he also had some herbs I believe that helped him out. Anyway. Adamantium itself isn't poisonous. And no, people who come into contact with it don't die within minutes or something like that either. That's never been a thing.
@2005Aztek
@2005Aztek 6 месяцев назад
His body accepted the adamantium and his bones (with the adamantium) formed adamantium beta. His body never rejected it. The modified high fructose corn syrup attacked his DNA the same as it did all other natural occurring mutants. It took way longer to start weakening him because of his healing factor, but eventually did. If he would have stopped ingesting the modified hfcf, and not been bodily damaged from outside causes, his body could have healed over time and restored his abilities. Notice how Caliban still had his abilities and health because he prepared his own food from organic ingredients. He also prepared the Professor's food, though he was suffering from an age related degenerative brain disease.

Since Wolverine cared for Professor X as he was the only one that could care for him, who knows how many X-men the professor killed when he first started having his episodes. I don't think they ever say a number in Logan. Maybe the entire school with all the students, maybe just the core group before Wolverine could subdue him and take him away. The movie implies Professor X killed them all. Maybe he was getting ill and having small episodes that were controllable so all of the X-men even the ones that didn't live at the school came to try to help the Professor and then he had the deadly episode killing almost anyone that ever was an X-men. It would be interesting to know who else is alive during Logan.

@vmac38
@vmac38 6 месяцев назад
When I first saw this movie, my thoughts about his healing factor stopping or nearly stopping was the fact that his body was in constant healing mode, due to the adamantium poisoning. When you add all the other severe and incredibly fatal injuries that he recovered from, his healing factor was in constant overdrive. At some point, that would cause some stress on his immune system and healing factor. Despite him having this incredible ability, he's not eternal and his body doesn't have an unlimited ability, albeit, it takes several lifetimes for this to take effect. If he lived a fairly normal life without the adamantium, he would probably live for a thousand years or more, with extremely slow aging.

Well in the comics it’s actually revealed that the adamatium was suppressing his animal mutation side. We see the effects of it being full blown after the fatal attraction arc. 2017’s Logan was based on 2008’s Old Man Logan. All it states is due to aging at a much slower rate than the average human being, which Logan is about 254 years old. In essence his accelerated healing factor was slowly coming to an end aka nothing lasts forever and “it wasn’t what it used to be, severe wounds takes hours to heal versus seconds”.

@bjornkoch3863

You definitely need a (better) editor, one that catches your misspeakings and the many doubling (in rage, he attacked in rage etc)... Carbonadium (the stuff Omega Red's tentacles are made of) has almost the same effect as the Muramasa Blade. Logan's healing factor fails in Logan due to the modified cornstarch that is in basically every food. Adamantium poisoning doesn't make sense, by the way. I mean, how could it poison him? - It doesn't cut of his bone marrow. - Since it's indestructible (some say immutable), it can't shed particles that get into his bloodstream and affect his body. - For the same reason, it also can't act as a catalyst for chemical reactions that would result in a "poisoning". I've read quite a lot of Wolverine Comics in my life, but whenever they bring up Adamantium Poisoning, they never actually give an explanation HOW it happens. Also, there are other characters with Adamantium grafted to their bones (like Bullseye), and they seem to not suffer from Adamantium Poisoning.

Wolverine is virtually immortal, he dint age until the mutant cure was put in the food and drink supply, plus some of it was drained for the wolverine movie when he was in Japan. By the way they is different type of immortality and immortal means to not die, they is many ways to die, like old age, being killed, being immune to disease and illness. Don’t forget it’s a mutation they can be cured. Wolverine was a type of immortal in the sense he’s dint age, at one point could be killed cause of his healings factor. Cause at the end of Logan when he’s dying from being impaled he says “this is what it feels like” meaning he’s not properly being killed and not felt death. In wolverine when the silver samurai was draining Logan’s healing factor Logan was getting old and start to look like a corpse and the silver samurai was starting to look young again like he was in ww2. That’s how powerful his healing factor was. Is healing factor made logan virtual immortal, in the sense he was not aging, survive almost anything soon in the films.

That event in Japan didn't even matter in the slightest. In DOFP, his brain was being "ripped apart" from having his consciousness sent back to the past for decades, and yet his regeneration can keep up with the damage being caused, well except for that scene with striker where he starts slipping back and forth. But still, he was fine until the end.

So here is a fun tidbit for you. Every time Wolverine 'died' it wasn't his healing factor that brought him back. He had to kick Death's ass to return to the living. Yes, Death with a capitol D. The same skull faced waifu who is head over heals for Dead Pool and the real reason why Thanos snapped his fingers to murder half of all life in existence.

Adamantium Poisoning it what stunts his natural healing factor. If he'd never been subject to weapon X he would be pretty much immortal, as is he can regenerate from a single cell but the poison allows him to age faster than he should though still slower than a human.
@czkmeister
@czkmeister 3 месяца назад
Adamantium isn't poisonous. His body rejects it because it's a foreign object alien to his system, but it's not poisoning him. His healing takes care of it, it fails in Logan because of the genetically altered corn starch in food, that deteriorates mutant genes, effectively stripping mutants of their powers. That's why Caliban and his powers are fine, because he basically lives like a hermit and cooks his own food from homegrown ingredients.

Wolverine was immortal, but the adamantium that was added to him affected his immortality, and that's why he aged It's in the comics.

He ages exponentially slower than a normal man, the adamantium speeds up the process by a couple of hundred years but his normal life span is about a couple thousand years.

They put chemicals in the food that suppress the mutant gene. So you have wolverine who was already 200 years old, being poisoned by the metal in his body, and having his mutant powers suppressed by the very food that he's eating.

@princeetu8831
@princeetu8831 6 месяцев назад
No he shouldn't. He replaces old or damaged cells with new ones at an accelerated rate, that's his mutation. There's bo reason why he should age quick.
@shaylethorne2387
@shaylethorne2387 6 месяцев назад
@@princeetu8831 His cells differentiate into the cells required to replace the damage. But to do that they have to be sped up massively. Also, the more it regenerates, the faster and more often mutations to the cells will happen, which include negative mutations. And unless magic is involved, even cells replacing themselves will have telomeres shortened. As Wolverine DOES age, that hasnt been changed. TLDR Unless its "maaaaaagic", instead of scar tissue, the cell will be building up toxins (which still build up since all his cells are doing is dividing), shortened telomeres (He ages), negative mutations (he got a positive one after all!), at an extremely increased rate which leads to aging.

There is a principle that soemtimes the simplest answer is the best answer. Why wouldnt it simply be true that just like any other aspect of a human body that aging simply leads to a decline in mutant powers too? In Logans case the healingfactor makes him seem like he is aging slower but he isnt he is still aging. But his healinmg factor is simply allowing him to love lomger by preventing thinsg from killing him as opposed to making him immortal. So it would reason that as he gets older and older this healingfactor will weaken over time and he would eventually die of natural causes.

@fangslore9988
@fangslore9988 5 месяцев назад
actually you're incorrect about why his healing factor was failing, the real reason was adamantium poisoning is accumulative as the metal breaks down in his system the poisoning level increases until his healing factor was overwhelmed keeping the poisoning at bay that it slowed down his ability to heal injuries and prevent his aging, if it kept going his healing factor would be 100% dedicated to battling the poisoning and not preventing his aging. basically in logan Logan's his healing factor was 80% occupied with trying to nullify the poisoning which resulted in his body aging and his wounds weren't healing as fast. in the X-men films the poisoning would have been trivial but as metal breaks down faster in his system depoisting more adamantium toxins into his blood his healing factor would put more effort into healing which ended up being overwhelmed by Logan

He is immortal te only reason he dies in the comics is because of the poison they put in all the food to stop new mutants from being born. He “dies” but over time as he is immortal his body heals and he comes back as a more feral being and he only eats things he hunts and kills himself which restores his healing factor.
@BrosBGaming

This always brings the story to mind where wolverine's adamantium was stripped from him, but the healing factor gave him scar tissue to the point his bones were even stronger than the adamantium. He became more feral as well. Wich make sense compared with his brother, Sabertooth.
