Love this series! I’m always looking for new ways besides the Precon to play heroes. And sinister motives is actually delivering to my house today so I can finally play this protection style keep up the great content.
That's fantastic to hear! I am happy it helps. I get worried since I am not the best deck builder or anything but I am alright ha. Hopefully it gets you at a decent starting spot with deck building and then you can take it from there!
Oh! A strategy series... I'm very intrigued to see these since you have a very unique play style. I really need to use Wolverine in Protection more, since I usually default to aggression.
Honestly you might be right. Protection has enough attack event cards to still do decent damage then has the healing and defence to patch up his weakness
If you want to go highly aggressive i suggest return the favor, powerful punch and preemptive strike. Villains are dead on turn three and you never have to thwart or flip to AE
Okay but hear me out: Combat Training can make Fastball Special 1 for 7 damage. Also, with the new linked cards coming, it will have the potential to be 1 for 8 damage! Sure, the stars have to align for this, but who cares about that when you can do 1 for 8, wolverine claws for another 8 and then wolverine swings for 4! 20 damage for the cost of 2 cards and 3 self damage! So yea, I have to play him in aggression until I pull this off.
Another great deck. Looks solid! It's crazy how Protection Wolverine is basically invincible. I'm not completely sold on Moira or X-Gene here, but then I don't really like to go alter-ego when I play Protection Wolverine so perhaps part of that is a style difference.
Thanks for this D20! I do not get on well with wolverine. Too much impact of health as a resource. I will have to try him in Protection. I am a but behind with X-Men though so missing valuable supports
Very concise video. Have you ever tried 'perfect defense' protection Wolverine? I'm thinking about giving that a try myself. It should be fairly easy to keep him ready and damage free during the villain turns that way while you can use his signature cards to damage.
I haven't been getting aggression wolverine to work because like you said you kinda self damage yourself and can't really make up for it. Your force to play expensive blockers all the time.
Wolverine is one of my favorite heroes, but I have yet to find a build outside leadership that I really feel comfortable with. In aggression, I lack thwarting and in protection, I feel like I'm slowing down too much. I tried him in protection as well, the plus healing is really really nice. Your build with a few modifications (taking out Fastball and Nick) is something I'm definitely going to try out, so thanks for sharing! Would you consider Tackle? I know it's really bad against villains who have steady or stalwart and 3 cost is kinda high.
Tackle can be a good option for sure. My only worry is using the fist resource. Feel like you gotta to make that card worth it and everything that’s expensive I use the claws. So it can. Just feels sometimes tough.
