I think the team-up cards that work as a "react", like Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch's card, are garbage. However, there are some gems on your turn. Beauty & The Thief and Fastball Special are both fantastic team up cards.
There are a few that is good like SW QS, but the rest are garbage or a waste of 40 card slots, unless playing with another player using that hero, but even then most are average
I could see trying to make Beat ‘Em Up work on Ultron but it’s just too situational. I could kind of see it when you knock him into Stage III on expert, but then the drones have 2 hp instead of 1 so it’s not going to help that much.
I think you undersold Swarm Tactics. It's not great for Wasp, but is exactly what Ant-man wants in a card. It also has the extra benefit of being easier to play because of the Wasp-A and Ant-man-L allies have different sub-titles so they can be included in the same deck as the signature allies, so you have more targets for enabling the Team Up card.
Sense of justice is the best card in it's cycle and will be until we get a justice version of honed technique. Brute force may someday have a place if we get more events that care about your heroes ATK without making them use their basic attack.
Congrats! I too got into their tokens and accessories after watching your videos! Also, I spotted your Tough Mudder shirt, did you do the final obstacle, electro shock therapy?
Any chance you have a link to the updated version of the villain tier maker with all the villains through the Apocalypse box? Would like to sit through and do this for myself just to see how id actually rank them from personal experiences but i only ever can find the older ones (like pre mutant waves) each time ive visisted the site to try and do one.
@@D20WoodworkingAh, appreciate the response I wasn't sure if it was one time only or not, if its a lot of work to get it all up, dont feel the need to do it all again. That site just does not cooperate with me for whatever reason any time I have tried it myself the images have ended up super zoomed in to where I cannot tell what it is I'm even trying to rank lmao. Not sure what I've been doing wrong. Would certainly be neat to do a template on future tier rankings for others to remix and see where/how related the lists might be!
We used to do a house-rule that you could always play a team-up card, but if your team identity wasn't on the board, then you had to pay 2 extra for it (we liked those cards that say "pay less for this card if x"). Then we changed it, and the house-rule became that you could play it as a response/discard upgrade which can't be triggered until the identity is played. That way, it's not a dead card which never gets used, it's a dormant card which often gets used at some random point in the game... Random triggering is a better trade-off to counter how cheap the cards are, and that keeps to the "team-up" theme better.
I bought pack of tokens from BTST on your last discount code. Absolutely amazing, especially ready/exhausted tokens, made the game even more enjoyable..
Love BTST! I bought their tokens for Marvel Champions and that experience convinced me to buy their tokens Star Wars Unlimited as well (especially love their carbonite “can’t ready” token!). I actually got on to them through watching Nelson’s game play videos so it’s awesome to see BTST collaborate with content creators like yourself. Great stuff.
I've bought product from them before as well (although, ironically enough, not anything for Champions...yet😉) and they are simply amazing. The sheer variety of products and the unequaled quality of materials and craftsmanship is absolutely top-tier.
I think the Sidekick archetype really makes team ups that link together signature allies with the hero a lot more consistent. Additionally, Suit Up means you can find an ally whenever you need to.
I was playing with a buddy lady night and we both ran Soul Sisters -- incredible card. And more flexible than you think of you communicate that you have it and call for action at the right time.
Thanks for doing this playthrough. I've gotta say, I don't like that you always know where the killer is. The creepiest part of slasher flicks is that the killer could be anywhere and the characters don't know if they're blundering into certain death or running to safety.
Thank you Jason for all your awesome content! We are as excited as you are to be working with you and look forward to more of your great work on the channel😊
It was just a matter of time before Big Token had gotten to you too! But really, congratulations. It's a match like milk and cookies, Hulk and blindly punching things 🎉
The nice part about multiplayer is that you have to COMMUNICATE that you have the team up and the other player SHOULD defend. I love the communication part of this game that many players feel is low but it is absolutely present if you engage with it
Was going to say the same thing. You know you have the team up card in hand that can ready and who will be going first. So potentially you can plan defending during villain phase and call for an action during player. My friend and I had a lot of fun with Two Against the World when we did our Iron Man and War Machine team up against RORS campaign.
Remember it also gives Rocket another card draw for whatever he kills with his weapon. Groot gets two more counters making his events more effective and also gives him a counter to use on his upgrades.

Was the purpose of team-up cards to inventivize playing certain character combinations? If so, they should be more powerful (only half are playable - I forgot how bad Young Love was). Additionally, that house rule needs to be an official rule.
Another good video with many good points, thanks. My main contention would be Kang, because I wonder if you dislike him for a different reason than you think you do... If someone likes the built-in variability of scenarios like Dark Beast and Mister Sinister, then they shouldn't have any issues with playing Kang solo. You don't lose much compared to multiplayer IMO. But I think the real issue someone might have with Kang is that he specialises more than any other villain in using Obligation cards. And all of them want you to flip down to deal with them. So if you don't like flipping down, then maybe THAT'S why you really dislike him. (As a player who enjoys flipping, I enjoy him.)
I wonder if cards like Brute Force and the 2 basic cards from yesterday could be fixed by a hero that had some kind of ability that made upgrades come back to your hand when you would discard them from play. So you could recur things like this. And obviously, said hero would have some relevant upgrades in their hero kit too. But yeah, other than that, I'll never play Brute Force.
