Facts I would’ve loved to see Mady Death-strike or Sabretooth make an appearance tho. As he has relations to Logan and she has connections to Logan and the reavers
I think Wolverine's statement to Lady Deathstrike sums up how we all feel about someone we loved her turns on us. When you are able to look them in the eye, when they are at your mercy and your true feelings come out. "I loved you once."
The way plots like these were handled are what made this series so great. Wolverine’s past romance with Yuriko and her going mad for revenge are so serious and grim things, yet the way Lady Deathstrike narrates how she became a cyborg is so cheesy and over the top… This combination of cheesiness and seriousness were part of old-school Marvel’s charm.
I cannot tell you how much I love that shine effect they do to Wolverine's claws in this series. It really adds depth to the claws and makes you feel like it's actual metal. All the newer cartoons just have his claws come out....and that's it. Here though they give a nice blue shine with a "Shing" sound effect. Please...please bring that effect back into modern day Wolverine or X-Men cartoons!
well, while not the same Wolverine and the X-men come close to this feat.... and Blum does a damn good job in the voice dept also... hated the voice actor in the teenage x-men and others...
Yea... I did always wonder how she dressed herself. Even reasoning that "Oh... maybe that's why her sleeves are so open." But then there are still the boots, pants and her hat.
Fun trivia: When they animated this they episode they had hired a new studio and they made her boobs jiggle so much so they had to paint the white shirt on her by hand in the US.
Wolverine didn't know Professor Oyama was Yuriko's father, she never once introduce Logan to her father. So don't blame Wolverine being responsible for Lady Deathstrike's father's death if is someone else's blame for her father's death is herself.
Man... you know it's a kid's show when they have the Reavers show up, before the incident of absolute brutality that led to their forming. Not by many episodes... but it's telling that Fox would want to skim past that as much as possible.
Honestly what did she expect to do to kill him? Wolverine has been ripped in half and didn't die. He even got nuked down to his skeleton and still regenerated. Is there even a single thing Deathstrike could have done to claw him to death?
At this point, he was able to be hurt really badly. It would take him hours to heal from things sometimes days. It was accelerated healing, but it wasn’t Godlike. That came much later.
I remember watching this episode on a dvd thinking it was a movie since I rewatched it so many times only To find out it’s actually an episode Of the animated series I remember they would always beef with each other but this was my favorite episode and also in my opinion I think it’s the best episode of the entire animated series
As much as I loved the movie Logan, I think it would have been better if Lady Deathstrike was the villain instead of a clone Wolverine! It would of made since as well since the henchmen in the film had robotic parts as well
My man Wolverine!!!! I felt so bad for him in this scene. However, it was still pretty cool. I wish Lady Deathstrike was the main villian in Logan. The Reavers were in the film, would of been better than the Clone Wolverine. Still love the movie though! 🙏🏽💪
If only the animation was like this for the rest of the series and the writing was still good. You can tell around the end of season 4 and all of season 5 writers began to run out of ideas then the animation wasn’t as good as the previous seasons.
Lady Deathstrike: "You killed my father and innocent scientist whose discovery helped you!" Logan: "Girl, your father worked at the Weapon X facility...... Where people get experimented on against their will..... That's far from innocent. By the way I was one of those people getting experimented on... so technically your father was an accomplice in kidnapping me. By the way you know how often I use my healing factor???? Right now actually. Your father practically grafted poison onto my bones giving me a slow painful death. So you still think your father did me any favors????"
Since when did wolverine's healing "factor" turn into some super mutant ability? He was down a good few weeks after a broken bone so where did this new ability come from?
well, it has started more as a "he heals faster" thing. Then it became exaggerated over the years. By 2007 it had reached the point where he could regenerate from his skeleton.
Reaver#1: Hey do not kill him we need him to open the alien ship. Then you can get revenge. ( and we can sell his adamantium skeleton beck to the Weapon X Program) Reaver#2: Cool umm silly question time. Does anybody know wether the ship has any kind of defense mechanisms or traps? Or if their is anything dangerous on board that might wanna you know KILL US!?
It's too bad the animation went downhill in the episodes after this one. They really lacked the details this one had and showed the obvious cost cutting
Black widow Roseno hara Silver fox Crackling rose Ms marvel Echo Mystique Heather Hudson Jean grey Storm Yukio Mariko yashida Seraphi Crying maiden Native It's Janet Janice Tyger tiger Reiko Lindsay McCabe Jessjca drew Electra Typhoid Mary Charlemagne Amir Delores downing Rachel grey Stacy x
He never gets to stab anyone in the whole series.... He just keeps showing his claws and retracting them and making that metal noise. Why do you even have them???
@2:28-2:30 aww the feels! my ex gf was engaged to some other guy and came back to me to tell me she still love me and that's when I had to move on forward and told her I loved her once and I walked away
Hugh Jackman's Wolverine is still the pinnacle. I don't care what any MCU fanboy has to say. These cartoons really are cheesy after watching his insanely emotional death in Logan.
I'm assuming you mean the quality of the animation itself. Yes, Batman TAS ruled the heap, but mainly because WB was producing with a higher budget than anyone else, save Disney.
@MasterMacLeod thank you for your comment @Theyn Smith..This episode was the best drawn Wolverine in the series and look at the detail in the fucking cyborgs imagine if they let Wolverine rip into them, the artwork in this episode was excellent for a kids show.
I was in college when this version of x men was out. I got home from classes just when it was time for it to come on and I am not ashamed to say I got my snack and sat waiting for that intro music like a 10 year old kid lol! I loved this show!
i prefer this Wolverine vs. Lady Deathstrike version over the movie version in X2 here it feels genuine, cuz they were lovers and things went sideways.. in the movie it was it was very impersonal and the fight was WWE like...
50Animator It's not really a 1:1 comparison, but they are both have ninja and spy training, traveled the world, speak many languages, stealthy roam the night in animal-themed spandex underpants, have access to animal-named jets, often have to fight the urge to kill their enemies, and have a weird tendency to pretty regularly take kids under their wing despite ostensibly being loners.
I'll give you those ones.Differences: Wolverine has a high kill count and really does not struggle much with killing unlike Batman, Wolverine has superpowers, Batman does not.Batman has a secret identity, Logan really doesn't hide the fact that he is Wolverine. Batman uses skill, wits and inventions to accomplish most problems Wolverine tends to rely on his berserk rage and healing factor despite all his advanced training.Besides that you hit the money in how similar they are. They both even come from rich families and have a grudge with an asian woman trying to best them. Lady Deathstrike for ole Wolvie and Lady Shiva for Bats hell their supervillain titles are even similar. to boot. Ha ha. I lost this argument. Still if there is one person I see that has more similarity to Batman than any other marvel character it is Daredevil.
