When she’s not busy crafting, Ellen Harvey is a professional cuddler at the nursery at Johnston Willis. Story: For more Local News from WWBT: www.12onyourside.com/ For more RU-vid Content: / @12onyourside
I started crocheting during the pandemic and it helped my mental health/anxiety but I dislike wearing yarn so I got bored making stuff for myself quickly. I wanted to make hats for my local NICU since both my niece and nephew are nicu graduates, but there are some rules like certain types of yarn, pet free/smoke free home, etc so always check your local hospital before you do it. I was able to make a bunch of hats and mittens for the unhoused in my area instead. I love the process of making items so being able to give them away to people who will use them and appreciate it is a bonus. I’d still crochet if I couldn’t donate. I aspire to be like this wonderful woman when I’m older.
Thank you so much Ellen Harvey. I am on the other side of the planet and I heard of YOU today! Wow you are amazingly kind and thoughtful. The babies and parent/ parents will have really appreciated you cuddling and comforting of their newborns when they could not. So much loving work in all you do. Congratulations on your much deserved award. The fact that you have got your other family members involved is also a true kindness and empathy legacy. That you and your friends and family waste nothing ! shows you really care for this one earth 🌍 we are all part of too. ❤❤
Ellen, I was delighted to see this video and to see you were awarded an Acts of Kindness award! It is well deserved by such a kind lady! May God continue to bless you and your work! By the way, I am Alice and have had the pleasure of sitting next to you at two Ovations concerts. Also we saw each other at the Dances with Wool yard sale. See you at the Christmas Ovation Concert! Happy Crafting!!
What a beautiful soul ! She is joyful as she crafts ! Amazing talents , her stuff looks very well made. I started sewing during the pandemic …like her I don’t like house work,…LOL . I prefer to cook , sew . I think I would like to imitate some of her activities when I retire. It will be joyful to give beautiful things to new babies. I love babies …they are evidence that God is not so fed up of mankind yet. He is hopeful the next generation will do better than the last generation.
