If the animal has a fracture that prevents it from moving or a head injury a broom is unlikely to encourage it to move. It seems serious. I really hope someone called a wildlife sanctuary or vet

Poor poor thing, a wild cat of any size has to be seriously harmed to not immediately defend itself or run from danger like this. I hope a rescue was able to rehab it or swiftly end its misery.

Dont move the animal, they should have called police thats f up, he got hit by a car . The police would call animal control and have the animal taken care of. Tuis is just crazy
For those who don't know! You do not get out of your car and walk up to a wounded mountain lion or any other wild animal that already looks at humans as a combination of fast food. You call animal control so they can get a tranquilizer gun and then get the animal to the appropriate wildlife vet to get fixed and tagged and put back into the wild.

The animal is in need of medical care-- bleeding and cannot move. All she has to do is call the wildlife animal rescue... the animal life is in jeopardy, why no one has enough sense to make a phone call for rescue. 🙄

That cat was likely a carrier of rabies. No mountain lion (that’s wild) but I’ll hang out in a public area…. May have been sick or injured but I’d stay away from any mountain lion that isn’t trying to stay away from everyone else

She wasn’t almost eaten. Not even close. The poor animal was struck by a car and was bleeding in the road. The mountain lion is disoriented and in pain. You would be too if somebody plowed into you with 4,000 pounds of metal. The smart things to do is try to move it without getting yourself hurt. Whether it’s by clapping, which would let you know if the animal is alert or not, or by pushing it along with a broom; it’s better than letting it lie there and potentially get hit again while still alive. If you’d rather let an animal suffer, that’s on you. You can be as stupid and heartless as you want. Not everybody is like that.
Remember, when you mess with a big cat, the best thing to do is get it standing and then trigger it’s predatory instinct by immediately turning your back and running.
Never ever ever make the mistake that this woman did, instead of using a broom stick you want to lay beside the mountain lion in the fetal position and then proceed to cuddle it.

100% . I grew up in an area with a lot of wild life (New Jersey) so I know certain things like don't touch poison sumac or oak etc , don't step on decaying wood because it usually harbors animals/insects that will bite , never touch animals etc. I realized a lot of people were never taught anything about nature

Bravery is when you are scared shitless but you do it anyway because its the right thing. This is not the right thing to do, A wounded animal is usually when they are the most dangerous. Most hunters in history died because they approached their prey before it had died, and with a last effort they fuck up their killer.

One of my friend and coworker was killed defending her child from a cougar …this woman is NUTS. ANYONE who purposely gets close to a mountain lion, is idiotic and begging for bad things to happen..

I don’t think people understand when a mountain lion gets hurt really bad. It kind of just give the fuck up not necessarily, but when people use hounds to track and corner the mountain lion after shooting it, they go after and attack it. Yes, the dog can get hurt, but that cat fucked up like I have lived in Montana for 18 years and I have literally never seen a mountain lion in the wild hunting doing anything I’ve never seen one, so seeing one in the road like this means it’s head is all fucked up or is dying and just doesn’t care, that’s when you should call somebody and see if you should put it down. In Montana that’s very common to do with deer because for some goddamn reason people just drive off after hitting it.

actually when she flipped over the lion, she managed to get it to the vet and healed it with her husband, and that lion forever loves them and lives with them
