My mother used to beat herself all the time to get my stepfather arrested. One time she got a little carried away with a hammer to her face. She broke several bones in her face! She called the police to report that he beat her up again but she was not aware that some of her children and grandchildren had already reported her actions to the sheriff. They refused to answer the call and she was left with a disfigured face. Served her right. My step-dad was a good man and she did not deserve him!
