Book: Remembering the Light: How Dying Saved My Life

--------------------- -------------------- -------------------- -------------------- -------------------- ---------------
For 20 years, Rose Thornton enjoyed a national reputation as an expert on old houses. The author of nine books, Rose has been featured on everything from PBS’ “History Detectives” to BBC Radio. In 2016, her husband committed suicide, and two years later, Rose was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.
After a “routine” medical procedure, Rose bled to death. In heaven, she was told that if she agreed to return to earth, she’d be restored to wholeness. Subsequently, medical tests affirmed that not only had the disease disappeared, but she was also healed of the crippling grief.
Please enjoy my conversation with Rosemary Thornton.

My parents killed themselves thirteen years apart. Working class hopelessness and inherited shame. When my mind snapped I had no choice but to figure out how to reverse engineer my life so I would not obliterate my kids' reality by ending my life as I'd been habituated to do at the end of my rope. It's a remarkable life when you are invested.❤

@@mgd6087 oh thank you love❤❤ It was painful and then it was exhilarating because it felt like exactly what I was supposed to be doing with the cards I was holding. The universe seems to turn toward us and as we go we are led and lifted. Supported in equal measure to our intention to meet sorrow and strife with higher and higher energy and as we grow we see that we can DO SOMETHING to help. I think that's all we want. If I can help in any tangible way I am here.❤❤ So much love❤❤

I've chosen not to sue at least twice. I said, "i cant afford the Karma" jokingly the first time. The second time, i was more in tune and "out" as spiritual and i said, "I don't want to invest in anger or resentment." Letting go feels so much better and catapulted me ahead spiritually.

What a delightful guest. I am glad that she brought up the topic of suicide. I lost my sister to suicide many years ago and she's right. It is one of the top most traumatic events to recover from. A suicide of a loved one. You also find out a lot about people and how they react to it. I was astounded that people I hardly knew were the ones that went out of their way to send condolences and reach out and the ones you think will be there....aren't. I will just say to anybody who knows somebody who has lost someone to suicide....the only thing you have to say is, "I'm sorry for your loss." I am so sorry that you had her on as a guest. Really enjoyed it.

"My body was on that gurney, it's my soul or my essence or my spirit that went to heaven. That's where the healing happened. And when I got back to my body, the cancer was gone." Yes!! Energy healing is all about addressing consciousness (the spirit) healing what's out of alignment, and watching the body and mind heal. Consciousness supercedes our physical reality. Been there and done that. Not quite as fast as with an NDE, but this IS the new frontier of medicine. Using what healers have known for eons and bringing it into present day paradigms. Great interview, as usual!!

My son was tied to the train tracks behind my house last year. I have 4 other sons and I just exist. I've searched for ways to end this life but the pull back is my living son's. I feel very dead inside and practically every person in my life left just days after his death. Eventually my mother stopped calling. My christian family didn't even go to his funeral. I watch life... but I don't have life. All my son's are adults, I don't know why I'm left here.

Bless you, darling♥ I know what I am talking about when I say - live day by day, take notice of little things, that make you even a bit happy and the day brighter - a flower, a bird, beautiful tree you see, sunny day...anything. I got better for me after two years, not much, but better. There are real downs, but then I got up onto my feet again. Sending you lots of love and there is always a reason to be - even if we could not see it, there is a purpose behind it and one day - we will understand...Take care of yourself💖

I'm so sorry for your loss. Words can't express how hard it is to lose a child, I can only imagine how losing a child must feel. I know it isn't the same but I lost a good friend last year to murder he was 6 years younger than me and when he passed away I was so angry and asking why wasn't it me? I lived a longer life than he did. It isn't fair these things happen to good people. I could tell you it'll get better but I can't promise the pain won't continue. Life is full of pain and it is not fair and that is the reality of people who have lost someone they love, it definitely changes you. I will say for you to be a mom of that many I think that's pretty cool, some kids don't have parents or know about them, my parents abandoned and neglected me for years but when my grandmother took me in another piece of me changed, when I lost her it was the most unbearable and confusing pain I've ever experienced out of all the pain I had been through already. Cancer took her after only 4 years with her. I had felt like I lost a mother and I did but it took me years to realize this is why it was so heavy on me. I can't explain it but I want to live more for them now and those chances they never got. I know it's not the same for everyone and I'm not saying you should get over it like I did because everyone grieves differently, I just hope that somehow some of my story will help you find some peace or at the very least some comfort that you are not alone even with different circumstances.

Wow! I’ve thought about suicide several times in my life and the only thing that held me back was the trauma I would leave behind. I’ve known several people who had a family member leave by suicide and they never got over it. Their lives were defined by their life before the suicide and their life after the suicide. When my Dad died suddenly at age 93, he died in my arms as I was transferring him from his wheelchair to the van. He was so ready to go and asked God why he was keeping him alive. My first thought was that now he was with Mom who had passed 7 years before and they were married for 63 years. After she died I then became his caregiver because it became my mission to keep him out of a nursing home. I had to go to grief counseling at Hospice and there was a young woman there whose father had committed suicide. I knew then that my grief was not as bad as her grief. This was a Great interview and Very Inspiring, Thanks Rosemary 🙏🌟🦋🌹

After listening to her story I was reminded of Jesus’ story about the good shepherd and the lone lost sheep. Using profit as a measure of a book’s success fails us. Sometimes God calls someone - inspires someone to write a book for a single lost sheep. A lot of books are written as an expression of this truth: God is the One who never leaves the one behind. That love that Jesus expressed in that story is who we really are and this is one way in which the love we are gets manifested in the world.

Lucky kids! I sat with the jealousy, then the warmth and finally with the inspiration: "God, let me realize my full potential". Thank you Rosemary Thornton. This prayer made it into my collection of prayers that are good for me.

This kind lady is so interesting nothing weird about her at all. I could sit for hours and talk with her. Hope we can meet one day. Thank you!

That's interesting. I have had several experiences throughout my life. I have been really sick the last two years and I have had more extreme experiences. I felt like I had one foot here and one in the afterlife. I have had/have help from the "other side". One experience is doctors/healers (they are actually gods, i have met the three of them once before. This time a could talk with them) that worked on me, like I was in a hospital on the other side even though I was still here. I was at both places at the same time. That's a really strange feeling. An other was my father (he's dead) telling me that I don't have to be afraid of dying. It's just like walking through a door. You don't really leave, you just walk through a door. The physical feeling I got is more like moving sideways. My dad told me I'm going to love it. I believe him. All the ones I talked to seems so happy and free. They are still them but they are more. Thank god I can talk about this sometimes with my fiancé and my mum. But that's it. It's hard because I feel I need to process and talk about it but most people would think that I'm completly crazy. So thank you for sharing.

I like her!!!! My heart went out to her for her earlier experience, so much so, that I had to check in with my spiritual team and my son's spiritual team to make sure all was well... So my take-away from this is to remember that someone in pain from loss is most likely barely coping and hiding it well (or not so well).... Great Job both of you... I hope this brings hope to others as well as nudge some minds open to the possibilities. Exciting to watch unfold.

This lady is GREAT! She and I would be friends (probably are in real life) So many similarities, to include finding my mom after her suicide 8 years ago. I reacted just like she did...2 1/2 years I was not competent, mind came/coming back very slowly. I have a spelling/grammar/word fixation. I would love to meet this woman, she's a pistol! Great episode!

I love what Rosemary has to say. It is interesting how love for others, or wish to not cause people pain. I knew I had to stay for my adult children. At least, and I worked hard for my pension and I was having my retirement.

Thanks Alex, another interesting interview. I like the term ‘temporary death experience’. The phrase, near death experience is not correct and it has always irked me because in every person’s story, they died. Period. Not come close to, or near to death, but died. Thank you. I appreciate what you do.
