Police say what started as a shouting match between a couple ended when a woman's boyfriend shoved her onto subway tracks in Manhattan. News 4's Melissa Colorado reports.

Murder is you caused someone’s death on purpose or in a fit of rage(which isn’t technically on purpose but is the same nonetheless)
@Hbo99978 this is definitely a case that should be a harsh sentence this lady can never recover from have her legs amputated. Like if you get shot you can potentially recover from it but losing your legs is horrific.
I could be going out on a limb, and maybe, just MAYBE I'm crazy for thinking this but I think I heard the reporter distinctly say that the offender ran off, and they haven't caught him yet. Now, I'm no professor or scientist, but when someone says they don't have something it usually means that they can't provide a photo of the thing that they don't have. Call me crazy but I think that's normally how these things work 🤔.

I'm glad that I don't live in New York. I live in Philadelphia and I refuse to take a bus or ride any form of subway. It has become a public war zone on public transit. I feel sorry for the woman. Her boyfriend deserves life in prison for that.

This is really sad!!! Young women, please do not ignore the red flags in your relationships!! If you are being mentally and physically abused, please choose to seek help!! Love does not abuse, nor should it leave you with scars!! Please choose your safety and wellness over anything else!! You have to love yourself enough to know when to leave!!!! As an amputee myself, I suggest finding a LIMB LAB near you. That's the name of the company. It took me 17.5 years to find a prosthetic that worked for me. I drive out of state for LIMB LAB bc no one locally could help me. Also, join the Amputee Coalition of America!!
I hope she sees this. It might help her a little to see that complete strangers care about her future. Her life is irrevocably changed and it’s going to take a lot of time and support for her to adapt. That man is a monster beyond words.
Me when i have to take the subway or bus and see all this in person, homeless left and right to when the ones ask for a dollar you don't know what they'll get aggressive when their not our problem their an issue for the city! i've seen some sleep in a Citi bank cause someone lets them in for whatever reason but it's sad!

Update - The man suspected of pushing his 29-year-old girlfriend onto Manhattan subway tracks in front of an oncoming train that resulted in her losing both of her feet has been arrested. Police said Christian Valdez was arrested late Saturday, roughly 10 hours after he fled the Fulton Street station where he allegedly shoved the woman as a 3 train approached the platform. The woman and her boyfriend were allegedly arguing around 10:30 a.m. when things escalated and he shoved her onto the tracks, police sources said. Medics rushed the woman to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition. MTA sources said the woman lost both of her feet as a result of the train strike. The woman's boyfriend had fled the station, leaving the woman alone. The 35-year-old Brooklyn man was picked up by authorities around 8:30 p.m. on charges of attempted murder and felony assault.

Truthfully, this is a PR stunt; however, the idea is great and it would probably do a lot of good if this was expanded to subway systems and stations that are not too popular? It is in the remote stations during certain hours when people are most likely to be attacked and violated. Only the most cray people will attack someone, for example, in Grand Central Station when you see cops, staties, and the national guard everywhere... just saying... 🗽
@@Meek_kballa Not on the platforms, they are just there for show at gates and anywhere not near the platforms. They would need to have martial law declared to actually be allowed to conduct patrols and arrest/save people.

I saw some new reports about the national guard. They seem to be in the midtown stations, NOT where the craziness is actually happening. The cops seem to be finding everyone they set out to look for. It seems like the folks in the subway are just nuts.
@@andrematthews313 - True, especially considering that since the shooting of civilians happened at Kent State back in 1970, the National Guard have not been issued ammunition while deployed on American streets, except for the Officer in Charge (OIC). Like you said, it's all for show.
Be encouraged, the fact that people are reacting in shock and sympathy means there are still sane and decent people out there. In 2020, Valdez was convicted of attempted assault and sentenced to eight years in prison after authorities say he broke into a Bronx apartment, stabbed a woman who lived there and threatened to throw her three-year-old daughter off a fire escape. He was paroled in January of last year.
