I work in retail and i always keep my phone on me because my phone is my propety and only safe on me otherwise phones and personal property at work get stolen with lockers broken into and whilst my company tells us to put our phones in their lockers they accept no responsibility whatever happens to my phone. That doesn't even make sense. I and so many others keep our phones on us for various reasons as we are adullts and have other commitments and our company is aware but they dont do anything unless we use our phones infront of customers (me most in our store dont) than they remind us not to use infront of customers other than that they dont do sht.@@Chicago86-B

I got written up for all sorts of things when i worked at Taco Bell. My mom wouldn't go and argue, she'd tell me to stop being stupid. I'm a successful adult now - this moms daugher will be unmarried with several kids the government will pay for. Good job mom!

I'm a manager as well at McDonald's and trust me I also write employees up for being on the phone. If I tell you 1 time it's a wroning the 2nd time it's a write up with a 3-day suspension the third time your terminated and there's been plenty of them that's been terminated
You're too anal about shit. As long as there is either no customers or every customer taken care of, then they can take a break and use their phone. Learn to work hard and enjoy your job as much as possible. I doubt you have any employees left with your holier than thou attitude.

The manager had no obligation to discuss ANYTHING with this women due to the simple fact SHE IS NOT Employed by this establishment. The manager was too nice to even entertain this.
I was a shift manager at a McDonald's in a bad area near downtown Los Angeles years ago, I always had issues with the young crew using their phones on the floor, I would never write them up because I was always soooo busy doing three things at once but I would let the store GM know. We had a similar situation when my GM gave a write up to a young crew member and the mother made a big scene, long story short that young employee was terminated on the spot, 😂 the mother came the next morning begging for them to rehire her daughter 😂😅 I completely ignore her and she left.
This is the lady who never showed up to a parent teacher meeting to talk about her child’s education. The day she got bullied though, she showed up ready to fight.

That's a failure as a parent. I'm guessing it's her daughter's first part-time job. She needs to learn responsibility, a work ethic and that when it's time to work it's time to work not beyond your damn phone. So she got a write-up for being on her mobile device. Oops. She should have been working. Imagine how humiliating it would be to have your mom come storming into your job to yell at your boss because you were disciplined at work. Everyone uses their phone, even the managers. They especially pull it out & show each other photos etc. when behind closed doors. Even this manager that did the write up uses her phone on the clock, it’s unrealistic to assume not when it happens. It’s another thing to do so in front of customers, which some do & it’s annoying.

Years ago there was a younger, female secretary that worked where I was employed. Her mother showed up one day and complained to the manager about the language he was using in front of her daughter. He threw her out and the next day the girl called in and quit.

All workers, no matter where you work at follow the number one rule. 1. When you're on the clock turn off your cell phone plain and simple. Your family knows how to contact you upon an emergency.😮
You’re not supposed to be on your phone period. You can ask to go use the restroom or to take a phone call but you can only do that once besides on break. It’s in the rules of working as an employee. The child was in the wrong. I work at McDonald’s and one of my coworkers got in serious trouble for being on their phone during a rush
