This is such a scary disease.

Scares the hell out of me. For those afraid of Alzheimer’s, bear in mind that the warning signs are far worse than forgetting where you put the keys. It’s when you put the keys in the fridge. My thoughts are with Sandy and her family ❤️.

What a lot of people don’t realise is that the first known case of Alzheimer’s disease was seen in a 51 year old woman.

Why cant you put a note on the cupboard door - dishes - cups and glasses - spices
@lindasnyder313
@lindasnyder313 5 лет назад
Because eventually they aren't able to read, they forget to look at the notes and they will also take them down and hide them. I've been dealing with my 94 yr. old Mom for 6+ years now. This is the worse most horrible disease ever.

To avoid dementia get on a KETOGENIC diet @ intermittent fasting ....it's high carb @ sugar that kill the brain it's being proven now in America with Parkinson's etc so now are you going to listen or be like most of us and say oh no I couldn't give up pasta @ rice @ bread { all of which turn to sugar in you body)well if we don't t listen and change the sugary standard diet will kill us all slowly .

henrietta henson actually fuck right off, it’s doesn’t have to do with carbs, you can prevent it a bit if you eat healthy, but that doesn’t mean go keto. There are so many ways people can get dementia and one of them is a brain injury, something you can never prevent unless you live in bubble wrap. You know nothing about this disease, I work with people who have dementia everyday, it can’t be simply stopped when you cut sugar and carbs

henrietta henson eating high levels of meat and dairy should actually increase your chances of getting it.

henrietta henson Henrietta dont push fad diets on people, keto is not healthy. Also @ means “at” not “and”.

Amen to that. My husband is high functioning spectrum. No empathy. My family filled in the gaps all our marriage, but all of them hv died. I hv stage III lung cancer, (in remission) but mets to lymph node near heart. My cancer is an interruption w his routine & job, & he's already told me he's going to put me in a NH if I lose my independence.

If they have kids, just think how worried the kids might be now of getting it.

Three years after her diagnosis, she still sounds okay. It’s probably from the medicine that’s controlling her symptoms.

I still can’t stomach Katie after seeing her be so unbelievably rude to Michael Moore over his criticism of the press and their handling of the Iraq war. He was 100% right and she was a complete and total you-know-what to him. I’ve never liked her since then.

Bonita Wauls Genetic testing is here for people with Early Onset Familial Alzheimer’s. In my assisted living we have a 62 year old woman who was diagnosed at 50 and now her 42 year old daughter has a definitive diagnosis. The daughter was an only child but unfortunately the daughter has 4 daughters who each have a 50% chance of inheriting the gene. It’s way more terrifying than Alzheimers in the elderly.
@bonitawauls6274
@bonitawauls6274 5 лет назад
@@monpayscanada thanks. For Alzheimers genetic testing to be free, don't you have to have a family member who had it? There is Lou Gehrig's disease and Huntington's Disease in our family. Not sure about that, either. Be careful getting testing because of insurance companies refusing to insure people if they find out. Guard your DNA results well. I was told this when I had Genetic testing for cancer, not to even let you dr's copy any results, lest your records get hacked. Was told to tell the dr but to keep your copy secret.
@monpayscanada

Bonita Wauls www.ginahelp.org/GINAhelp.pdf. Insurance companies are prohibited from discriminating against those with genetic markers. The test is not prohibitive. They may ask that you participate in clinical trials but they cannot deny coverage.
