i agree young lady, neighbours dont know how to be neighbours anymore! when i moved here yrs ago, i saw the elderly folks next door had no one to clear the snow in winter. so i took it on myself to use my snowblower and plow their driveway and property for them . i didnt ask permission, i just did the neighbourly thing to do. they never told me to get off the property etc. we are great friends now, and ive been doing it for years. and i am elderly too by the way 🧓

In 2020 California and New York proposed and passed The CAREN (Caution Against Racially Exploitive Non-Emergencies) Act. Now they can be sued for up to $10,000 and face possible jail time for wasting police time. It's a bylaw in Canada and there's a petition to have it made the law up here. It's been the law in Europe since the 1960s.

Calling lthe police for cutting the lawn, I can 100% believe it. Early 2000's in my last home, a new neighbor call the police on me for get grass clippings on their property. They wanted me to sweep their asphalt driveway. The police said, Just sweep the driveway. I refused. I walked their driveway and physically picked up the grass clippings that got on their driveway. A total of TWO (2) pieces of grass, YES, two (2) piece of grass, less than 1/2 inches long ewch. The officers just looked at me in confusion. The neighbor was screaming at the top of their voice, "Make him sweep my driveway!!!!" I looked at the officer and said, look at my yard and look at their's. I had bright green saint augustine grass, they had Florida state hay grass. My cuttings were bright green and freshly cut and everything else on their driveway was dead state hay and dirt. One officers just looked at the neighbor and told them they needed to sweep their own driveway. The two officers were just shaking their heads in disbelief as they walked to their cars to leave. Myself, I was laughing my butt off at the idiot neighbor.

@@elainyarnell1828 There are too many things needed proven to be paid workman's comp for "the rest of her natural life", and she would need to be totally disabled to never be able to work in any capacity for that long. WC is only temporary, and then she would have to go on disability, which would go to Social Security (which is based on previous employment and what was paid into the fund) and even then, it would be a very minimal amount, since she probably hasn't worked long enough to have much paid into the fund. As for suing her employer, just because you sue someone doesn't automatically mean you'll win, and I seriously doubt that she could afford a good lawyer who could win the case for her. With the current ubiquity of cameras these days she'd need for whatever happened to actually not be her own fault to even consider suing and winning.

Apparently one coworker got warned tons of times (way more then her )but was still never wrote up for it. I call sus. Something some people don’t understand is places like Starbucks when working there you are deemed an at will employee of the company. They can get rid of you for any reason or no reason at all. I was a taxi driver for 6 years. It's shocking how many people call for a cab, then expect the cab to sit and wait for them for 15 minutes. Then they get to their destination and want me to sit without the meter running. Then they want a round trip when they never asked for a round trip when they called for a ride. People think the world should revolve around them.

a few months ago, in the middle of Florida summer, my window AC crapped out. I also had no car at the moment, as it was in the shop. I had to Uber to get a new AC unit picked up. I put a message on Uber when I requested the ride, "I need to go pick up a new AC unit. If you can take me there and back home (10 minute drive each way), you'll get normal fair and I'll also tip you $25 when we get back to my house." I had a guy answer right away and agreed to help me. I probably thanked him at least 6 times. talk to people, it's amazing how far a small amount of communication goes.

I have used cabs a few times and if I need the driver to wait briefly, like picking up medicine I ask the driver if he can and Im ok with them leaving the meter running and make sure I tip him as well

She's only in the right for refusing service and asking the customer to leave but that's it. There's is no expectancy of privacy therefore the customer can legally record all she wants. However, the customer is now trespassing after being ask to leave.

Ann Dennis, you are absolutely right. Businesses, stores, restaurants, malls, parking lots, hotels, and many more are private property. If anyone walked into someone's home and started recording it would be the same situation. A homeowner wouldn't have a sign on the wall stating "No recording." So many people still don't get that. It's not illegal to videotape in a store, mall, etc. but if an owner or manager or other employee asks the person to stop recording they have to stop or risk being trespassed which is a criminal offense.

Regarding the crotchety old lady complaining to the cops about her neighbor cutting grass ~6" over her imaginary property line, the cop should have simply said, "This is a civil matter. Call your attorney. Have a nice day". Regarding the snowflake being disciplined for the nth time for wearing earbuds while doing Starbucks floor duty, when she started crying and complaining about discrimination, when this sobbing employee announced that she was going home for the day, the store manager should have said, "Don't come back, you're fired." Regarding the guy recording at Auto Zone while trying to get a refund without his sales receipt, since the guy insisted on seeing a "No Recording" sign, maybe the manager could have scrawled those words on a piece of paper and stuck it on the door with tape... and then (in the same spirit) scrawled "No Refunds w/o Receipt" under the No Recording sign. Then the manager could have sweetly said, "Does THAT make you happy?"

As far as I'm concerned, no receipt means no exchange or refund. Customers are on private property. Anything employees say is law. They don't have to tell you or show you anything they don't want to.

I had a similar situation where someone refused to get out of my car after I was nice enough to give her a ride to her home after church since I lived nearby. She decided to keep me hostage in my car to give me a religious sermon on what she believes and expected me to believe what she does. She insisted we were doing religion wrong at our church where she was invited to attend and demanded I agree to do religion her way. The people who brought her disappeared when it was time to go home and was asking people for a ride home. After more than 15 minutes where she refused to get out at her house, I decided to get out of my car and I walked home. She didn't expect that. I went back a couple of hours later to get my car. I realized then why no one would give her a ride home.

When you are in a store you are on private property. You are not allowed to film in a private store (they are all private or you could walk out with free stuff) because of the invetory and because of the security system they use. If you are told not to film in a store you cannot film in a store. I really feel that our society is going down hill and soon we won't be able to stop the crazy chaos because of the momentum. We're doomed.

Sometimes I feel like these fast food workers are just over the abuse. That's a hard job. I always approach with kindness and get great results and I am Karen age. Mutual respect is easy.
