Condemn? Obviously you’re not a parent. It’s called #StatutoryRape. He definitely should not have been let in the pulpit, again! He made no true confession, he even hid the sin (he said she was a “young lady”, she was a young 12-year old girl), the no legal consequence for statutory rape. No pastor should be in the pulpit with any legal, ungodly sins. They can repent, in front of the church congregation as the Bible requires, but they are let go from the church; NOT let back into the leadership position again!!
ABSOLUTELY‼️ And, how about PASTOR ROBISON??? ALL those “prosperity preachers” are actors and actresses, performer crooks. This story makes me sick, as a 72 yr old divorced woman of a verbal and emotional abuser, Robert Morris is a cowardly, insecure little mama’s boy in a grown man’s body, USING GOD for riches.
Do you think capital punishment by beheading for him raping her last week is too severe. The 14 year old boy had no money but the victim may accept his head in a box. You never know.
He who is without sin --- let him cast the first stone. Forgive and you shall be forgiven. Vengeance is mine saith the Lord. When people are young and immature, many fall into sin and with Christian maturity, they overcome these temptations. In a world where Jesus died for us all, it is better to "judge not, lest you be judged" and forgive without demanding millions of dollars.
Perhaps the time limit for when charges can be pressed has long since passed. Kind of like what happened with former U.S. Speaker of the House (R), Dennis Hastert who allegedly abused members of the high school wrestling team where he was a coach.
He groomed that child for over four years and then tried to convince her to have sex with him. That it is a crime. He should have been held accountable and permanently stepped down from ministry.😢
He needs to go to jail he not only broke God’s law he broke Man law that prohibits this deranged behavior. Trial should start soon ~ 4, years of conditioning a child under the age of 14, is pedophile behavior I’m sure there’s more victims since he told her to stay quite where’s the justice for this victim?
@@lelabrooks04 BIG TIME! This crap happens too often in religious communities and it sucks. I left the church at 15 over hypocrisy and abuse myself. Right! If he did this to his FRIEND'S DAUGHTER... risking being caught, what else did he do? Now we're just supposed to believe hin when he claims he is "pure"?
He runs a false church. This man is not a true shepherd and neither are those elders who did not turn him into the police when all this took place. They have brought shame on The name of God. No wonder the world looks at all believers like we are stupid.

And allowed that criminal to prosper and have no reckoning. Like the adults around that young girl while protecting the abuser. I call THAT a moral failing.
Wow, and yet he's the Pastor and on screens all over and a millionaire living in a mansion and on vacation at this moment, it's Pastor like him that make us Christians wonder what is truth and what is lies. I agree....way too many rich pastors out in the world while their brothers and sisters in Christ are hungry and without shelter. Used to be pastors had a modest home and income, as the funds brought into the church were used for the less fortunate. And even one abusive pastor/priest is bad enough, but the stark quantity being discovered asthe abused start getting old enough to speak up must deeply grieve our Father and His Son. And those who support them and hide them are tarred with the same brush to our Father. Poor little ones.....

If he wasn’t a pastor and had these issues, it might be different if he had the spirit of God working in him prior. However, let's be honest, most people would not want to sit under a pastor who molested a child or preteen before becoming a Christian. They would feel he could slip up and do it again and wouldn’t feel safe with their children around him. This is not to say that God doesn't forgive those sins, but all sin is not equal. I don’t know where people get the idea that it is. Yes, Paul was a murderer in his day, but he experienced a complete transformation once saved, so this situation is not comparable. In the New Testament, God gives a mandate for those in leadership. James 3:1 states, "Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness." James 3:1-12 explains that teachers are held accountable to live by the truth they teach and not lead people away from God's Word. If a teacher teaches incorrectly, they may cause their listeners to stumble, and if they fail to live in a way that's worthy of their teaching, they may be considered a hypocrite and deserving of further judgment.
If he wasn’t transparent or honest about the age or severity of his abuse, how effective could any counseling, cleansing or prayers have been? Even now, this criminal is minimizing the facts. You can’t heal or give amends if you don’t admit what you have done and you keep shading the truth. Churches who don’t report this kind of crime should be held legally complicit. It also makes me wonder how the elders treat their own children if protecting a pastor is so all-important. These false prophets will be the downfall of Christianity. If you believe in Heaven, etc. Can you also believe that this criminal and those elders will have a hard time getting through those gates? I can hear their arguments about how they built a massive church but god saying « no. You built those churches for your own wealth and glory and were false teachers. Enjoy the other place ».
No, Robert, what you did was illegal sexual attacks on a child not “inappropriate sexual behavior with a young lady”. You need to go to prison for what you did to her & probably to several other kids.
Who would want to attend his church after this. He’s a despicable terrible person. He’s hidden behind his title Church Leader. He should be investigated to see if there are other victims out there. That’s pure evil to harm a child.
He committed ongoing sexual a. of a child. HE SHOULD BE IN PRISON! I don't give a rat's a$$ how remorseful he is! THE CHURCH SHOULD BE SUED BY THE WOMAN AND HER PARENTS: failure to report.
Agree. Parents are responsible too. They went along with HIS agenda in hiding his sexual assault with their daughter. They didn’t protect her and they didn’t prosecute her predator.
Needs to resign immediately. This was covered up for decades, and it appears that Morris has lied to the church about when it happened (He was in his 20’s and married ) the age of the child he calls a “young lady” ( She was 12) and about the claim that he was “ blessed by the victim and her father” to continue in the ministry. The fact that the leadership was complicit in this cover up and are still covering for him, speaks volumes about them. Sorry, but the church needs to clean house, otherwise the name of Christ will continue to be dragged through the mud for the sake of one man’s need to hold on to money and power. 😢
In Texas Some sex crimes against children have no statute of limitations for state prosecution. These crimes include sexual assault against a child and indecency with a child.
Child Sex Crimes Investigator here…unfortunately it wasn’t until 2007 that the statute of limitations was lifted on sexual assault cases. Anything prior to that must revert back to the law at the time of the offense. If a sex crime happened in 1980, even though it is now 2024, you have to research what the law was in 1980. I believe the law was that charges could be filed up to 10 years from the child’s 18th birthday. So up to 28 years old. She’s clearly older than 28.
Unfortunately, this is Texas we're talking about. Law enforcement is corrupt. Certainly, the MEGACHURCH is no doubt extremely rich, powerful, and influential which means 'threats' to those who speak against "God" (the pastor) and wealth for the corrupt e.g. Governor Greg Abbott, his senate, mayors and police.
Not necessarily. New York’s Adult Survivors Act, signed into law in May 2022, allows adult sexual abuse victims previously barred by the statute of limitations a limited “lookback” window to take action. S.3161/A.3340Governor Kathy Hochul today signed legislation to modernize New York State law to protect survivors of rape and hold perpetrators accountable for sexual assaultRape is Rape Act
the woman says that his wife knew at the time that she was being abused and called her and told her that she, the wife, forgave her as though a child needed to be forgiven for what her husband did to her.
Net Worth of Pastor Robert Morris - Minister Robert Morris’s estimated net worth of $117 million shows that his impact goes beyond the spiritual world and into the financial world.
I can’t believe his followers will defend him and still follow him. I used to watch him about 4 years ago until I heard him preach several times things that were not biblical and I had to. Stop watching.
All of those "preachers" are in it for the money - except Billy Graham. I think he tried to do the right thing all his life. And money was not a priority.

@@christieprince6991 His son cannot fill his shoes. He doesn't have the personality or charisma of his dad. Many people know about the *alleged* event, where he inserted himself into her life. His wife knew. The elders knew. After 10 years there, I'm not surprised. I left when the first pastor on staff was terminated for adultery, and called himself a victim. The church culture is sick, and it's sad.
the sad thing is people like this tend to minimise their involvement to protect themselves, which again means, they have not taken full responsibility or accountability for the crime.. He made this sound like a consensual act between two people, when she was actually a child of 12, whilst he was a grown married adult in his 20's (with a small child), so this was sexual abuse. As Christians we often try to deny or protect the perpetrator, without a thought for the victim's life which was ruined, and to also help prevent future potential victims. I am sorry to hear this, as I heard Robert Morris speak here in the UK at my church, and I have also read his book. He seemed solid and legit, but then again, so do a lot of predators who are hiding in plain sight and in positions of power. I hope he is held to account by the law and the church, and my apologies and gratitude to the victim for coming forward and saving others. I pray you can move forward and have a good life.
What do you mean «as Christians we minimize…”???? That’s not in any teachings and it’s NOT as “Christians” do, in generally. That’s offensive. Turning away from a victim is only connected to false worship and false prophets. NOT Christians.
Hope the victim is recovering well. My pastor was caught embezzeling money in the 1980's. This is what happens when there no accountability in religion, politics or anywhere else
STOP CALLING IT ‘a moral failing”!!!! It’s a crime. The sinful church had a moral responsibility to report this and let the legal system handle this, as did her family. The simple fact that he is minimizing the issue of her age (« young lady » ) and minimizing his abuse is astounding. Didn’t the church ASK for details when this first came to the their attention?? Or did they just pray that it would go away. And yet we are to take their words that there have been no other « failings » since???? And where was the church’s support for this « young lady »??? Let’s hear from other brave women who have found otherwise. These mega churches and their false prophets and the elders who worship the money they bring in are disgraceful. And don’t even get me started on their tax free status as a « charitable » organization. Disgusting.
The requirements of Justice/Accountability/Restitution are not negated by a simple/public confession of sin being made by a pastor. Corruption of a minor and S.A. of her innocence is a very serious felonious matter warranting time in prison for doing so.
Hey anybody wondering where the criminals that molested young girls & trafficked them are listed because Ghislane Maxwell is in prison, yet none of her clients have been revealed. Maybe catch the big fish story instead of digging up a 40+ year old mistake made by a 20 year old male.

This was while he was a pastor at age 20, with a wife and child, a guest at the home of this 12 year old's parents. He may be forgiven, but that does not save him from criminal liability, just like if he had killed someone or robbed a bank. Romans 13.
He needs to be criminally charged. She was a child. I mean, his lawyer stated she was "flirtatious." Are you kidding me?! She was 12 years old. She was not a young lady. SHE WAS A 12 YEAR OLD CHILD. A CHILD
The devil is destroying our leaders! We are all human and make mistakes. God uses broken people. I am a survivor and have forgiven my abuse. I was very young at the time 5-14 .
Same as it ever was. William Tyndale wrote a very famous book. It's read by maybe billions to this day. One fine day a couple hundred years ago, a jolly gay fellow had some friends of his find that fine author, Mr. Tyndale. They did what their jolly friend told them to do and strangled him to death, and then had him burned at the stake. That jolly gay fella went on to name Mr. Tyndale's book "The King James" version of the Holy Bible. True story. 80% of it's contents remain Mr. Tyndales.
I thought once church parishioners are made aware of sexual abuse they are to #1 report it to the police. Did that happen in this situation? If not why not? If not then the leaders of that church are also to be held accountable?
He was "God's anointed" whom evangelicals are taught to "touch not". Don't ever, ever speak against them, or suffer the wrath of God. He told his wife that this little girl had a Jezebel spirit, and that she seduced him. "The devil made me do it" defense. She was 12. Stinks.

Good for you. I called them out on support of 45 and charging youth group kids for pizza when the Morrisses and Kari Jobe were shelling out big bucks to attend the inaugural. I heard, "Have you talked to the pastor at your campus about this?" Are your freaking kidding me?????

Why is it people wait so long to bring out the past! They both were wrong now we all get to judge for ourselves. You can't change the past just ask what can we do to learn from this.

That's clearly the path Morris has chosen, living with this for 35 years, knowing he committed r**e of a 12-year-old child, and then refusing to even cover her therapy costs.
The biggest thing that bothers me is that it continued till she was 16 yrs old. Now she comes forward. No one seems to take that into consideration. Was he in the wrong? ABSOLUTELY. But so was she.
Did she recoil or secretly fantasize about being in love with a young man who was older? I had puppy love at that age but no knowledge of what kissing could lead to. I also had no idea how my adoration and romantic notions could arouse a man. At 16 I had sex with my first boyfriend after petting went to its natural conclusion. This young lady was not a young child. I wonder why she decided to destroy not just a man’s ministry, but a whole church. And why is this 30 year old sin considered the unpardonable sin? I don’t trust anyone who wants money for their “suffering”. We’ve all suffered and some of us have actually been raped.
I hope he is Prosecuted and the church is shut down. This church never should have alowed him to return. Makes me wonder if all the elders are pedophiles. Yes we are all sinners and this sin can be forgiven and may have been forgiven by God like all others through Gods Grace and we should love our fellow man however this does not mean they should have allowed him back in a leadership position where he could have hurt other children. It has nothing to do with religion. It is a crime, and he should have gone to prison, ASAP. Her father knew, but also his wife, his pastor, church elders, James Robison. All complicit.
