The visa officer that interviewed my husband was like, where are you going to, and my husband answered thunder Bay, and he said thunder Bay in this kind of weather? And my husband answered yes i love 💕 Cold, and he said if you can handle it then you are welcome to Canada. I believe my husband entered Canada by God grace
This lady is pretty intelligent and this is where a lot of people miss it. If she hadn't done everything by herself she would have not been let in. Dear Nigerians please always know your travel details and history like the back of your palm.
I wasn’t asked any single question at the port of entry in Canada..Not even a single question.. the officer just handed my permit to me with smile and told me welcome to Canada
I came to canada on February and i never experienced any harassment or hostility at the port of entry, but my paperwork was original and legit,so far canada has been kind and very good to me,i cant complain.
My brother Chorkor Millionaire, I must say you're doing a very good job, you're not even aware of what your videos are doing in people's lives, I believe we in Nigeria love and appreciate you even more than Ghanaians. Your advices stand out. I will soon be in Canada too, thanks a million.
A classical example of a very thorough preparation. You must think like an immigration officer and ask yourself if you were the officer, will you let you in? She sounded very convincing and am sure most of her information on her application were true. Honesty in your application will give you confidence.
What did your government do wrong? People all over the world travel. Am surprised with type of comments some Nigerians make against their country. Foreigners are reading. And if we don't have regards for our country, what respect do we expect from foreigners? Imagine this lady, when asked about Nigeria, all should say is "wahala". Nigeria is a great a country, not Whahala.
This also happened to a Nigerian lady yesterday at the Toronto Airport. She said she was questioned for over two hours and even taken into an office to continue the interrogation. She said even when the other officers asked the immigration lady to let her go, the immigration lady kept interrogating her. She was threatened with instant deportation and even asked if she wanted to declare amnesty to which she said she replied no because she was only here on tousism. She said the immigration lady told her she must report with her departure ticket when she is leaving canada one month as she has stated.
This is because too many immigrants from similar countries go and claim visitor visa just to try to get asylum when their life is not in danger, or trying to change their visa to something else. This is what happens when too many people with scam mentalities come to a country. They make an impression on the people of that country and it is not a good impression.
Siting friends can be very tricky cos you don't know 100% of their situation. They ask you questions about your friend and then call the friend on their airport phones. Ask them about your situation. Even about which school did they go to, or what's your parent's names/husband/children. In UK they do that. I was questioned about my cousin who was coming to UK for a nursing interview. They asked me if he doesn't get through the interview what was he going to do. Same question they asked him. I told the immigration that he will go back home and he said the same thing. They let him through. Good job I'd grilled him well with information. Zim/UK.
Best is to book your hotel reservation with return ticket. Also highlight places to visit and have money. If nobody invites you to get your visa and you get your visa by yourself, don’t put your friends in at the point of entry. You can cancel your hotel reservation after you enter and go with your friends 😊
Canadian immigration is known for this even with American/British passport holders of African origin. I went to our Calgary office from the States 7 years ago and was stopped with my British passport that has a US work visa. 30 mins later and after speaking to two different officers i was finally let in. I didn't even need a visa, just an online eTA. I have not been ever since....no interest!
@chorkor I booked viator tourist reservations like City sightseeing Toronto Hop in and out, Royal museum, Niagara falls front Toronto, CN tower night tour and one other to pay later.......I hope this is not bad, please advise.
This is humiliating. They can't do this to an European, Australian or British citizen. The Nigerian ministry of interior need to take note and extend the same hospitality to non Nigerian Canadians visiting Nigeria. This is happening because African countries are docile.
I agree with you that this is humiliating. You probably may have heard my answer to this in the video. Western countries will continue to treat Africans traveling with African passports like this until we make our own passports globally competitive. How do we do this? Not a title for tat treatment of their own nations but strengthening our economies back home and improving the quality of lives of our people. If Nigerians do better financing or economically, the incentive to jappa reduces and automatically improves the strength of the Naija passport. UAE and Singapore didn't need to do tit for tat 30yrs ago. They simply improved the UAE and made it competitive. Today, they hold one of the strongest passports in the world. Fixing the economy is the solution.
I totally disagree with you and this has nothing to do with a Nigerians or race, listening to the lady, the immigration officers did excellent job,,, that's a security screening which anyone can go through.
That barcode issue is an important issue with Nigerian passports..I couldnt claim my tax return on items I brought in France at Charles DeGaulle airport because they were unable to scan my barcode..
It depends on the border officer you meet at the port of entry. Again, your first answer have the potential to giving you away. Learn to be truthful and make eye contact. The truth is in your eye.
True! Cos they don’t do interviews before people get visas. So the interview is at the point of entry and people just have to realize this and prepare. Getting a Canada visa doesn’t guarantee entry
Top your phone that is a bridge of data protection. My late dad begged my ex to encourage me to read law fro him as I was undertaking my masters program. I would have sue them ❤
They have the right to go through your phone at secondary, and if don’t want them to, your visa can be cancelled on the spot and you will be removed Immidiately.
Chorkor your videos are always on point and loaded with relevant messages. I guess these immigration officers should at least understand that we have Nigerians who are legit and doing well back home. However, who may just want to experience Canada, US etc and don't always think we want to stay and not return. For some of us, we cant get what Nigeria offer us else where. God bless you all sir
