It's not at all unusual or unreasonable for victims to wait before filing a lawsuit. It takes some inertia for victims to come forward. In other words, there is power in numbers.

Seriously. Its a little preachy (being a christian film) but for anyone that has a child (or parent they're close with) its a very powerful film. It really strikes at the hopelessness and fear those kids go through in these situations, and that is something that deserves to be talked about.

Nobody "knows" but the theory comes from recognizing patterns of this industry using patsies. I find it more likely that this is retaliation for the disruption Tim has caused in the child trafficking industry; and for the rings he has dismantled. People should be free to have different opinions on this because anything is possible. It's entirely possible for one ring runner to want to take out thier competition in the industry, but i find it unlikely that such an individual would make a movement and movie with his face at the forefront of it. At the end of the day those who abuse children should have serious penalties.

Totally agree. I'm not saying the mans a saint, but the charges are absolute BS, and they only appeared once his story and film were getting some real traction in the public eye.

I don't think he had a choice. If he'd have stayed, with those allegations ongoing, he could potentially discredit the entire group, because people (and the media) will automatically equate whatever chargers he has with them as a whole. By stepping down, he effectively keeps the heat entirely on himself, and so his group can still go on and keep fighting these trafficker's, with a lot less bad publicity.

OUR is an official organization, they have a duty to organize the missions in a way that is as safe as possible for everybody and choose volunteers that have skills that are needed. For example they had former military personell on some missions, these are volunteers who can contribute. Some social workers who have knowledge about trafficking maybe would have helped, too. But Tim Ballard chose to take some LDS housewives on the trips instead.

Amazing that people can blame inexperienced civilians instead of the expert who used his position of trust and their desire to save children to take advantage of these women!

The women should be heard and the allegations should be investigated. But we can’t just “believe all women.” Try and withhold judgment until you have all the information. And please note that this is a civil lawsuit, not a criminal charge.

At the conclusion of the investigation, as previously stated by O.U.R., Mr. Ballard resigned." (The Blaze) It makes zero sense for anyone to try to bring Tim down after he stated he will no longer be doing missions. I agree "no one is using their brains much".
