My mom passed three years ago. Everyone always says that time helps, but it doesn't. Not one bit. I still think about her everyday. Every. Single. Day. She was incredible.. Appreciate your mom, guys.. Even if you don't have the best relationship, cuz sometimes life just doesn't give you enough time with her.. Sometimes she gets taken way too soon. If I could just see my mom's face. Just one more time.. I'd give everything I have.

how do you know they are muslim? Just because they wear hijabi doesn't mean you know their religion. I've met women with hijabi and had a different religion and vice-versa.

I can't talk in behalf of others, but i can assure you that the people that i know and wear scarf (while not being part of the muslim religion), they don't do it to look like someone else. That is just stupid.

It depends. Black women such as myself wear headwraps(not in the style of the hijab), because it comes from our culture in Africa. NOT from hijabs. Maybe other races of women, but we have a direct African culture that wears headwraps in different styles.

They have Muslim names. Shadia means "Singer" in Arabic and Layla (or Leila) means "night/dark" in Arabic. That combined with the scarves and the modest style of clothing (all long sleeves, no shorts/skirts/rompers/tight clothing) makes it a pretty good assumption.

The moment i saw your grandma God only knows how bad i burst into tears. My grandma had the same accent , the same style of clothes and i really miss her so much she was the only grandma there when i came to life and its been a year and i still can't believe it. I sympathise with the feeling, but getting depressed because you can't pick an outfit - have none of these ladies ever worked in a service job or office with a dress code/uniform? I've had one job in my life where I've had total freedom to wear whatever I want, everything else required me to be very selective or wear a standard uniform. I'd have thought they'd just get on with it.
