They should test which one would last longer. Higher end makeup usally lasts longer and is worth your money.

These cheap vs expensive videos are pointless - the difference between expensive and drug store isn't how they immediately look, usually they both look the same. It's the longevity; drug store makeup usually fades or gets oily in a few hours and expensive looks basically the same all day

Okay I'm gonna fIGHT here because the stilla liner is the best thing ever you could have it on for like 2 days straight and it doesn't move at all and the product can last you over 8 months working perfectly and without drying (while the drugstore ones dry in like a month). I'd literally travel back to the US JUST to get that eyeliner again :(

-the Revlon lipstick does not last more than 10 minutes while the Mac lipstick lasts all day -the L'Oreal liner smudges and runs off in about 30 minutes while the Stilla takes about 30 secs to set and then does not move for the whole day -the Milani blush doesn't stay on as long as the Nars, but they're both great (Milani is one of the drug store brands that is pretty good) -The Maybelline shadows aren't nearly as pigmented and come off within 1 hour while the Urban Decay may have more fallout, but they're much more pigmented and last all day

you can't test this on people who arent makeup people... 🙄

It doesn't matter how it is applied they should test on how well the makeup wears throughout the day. That is usually what makes the difference

A makeup artist should have applied the makeup so the people don't feel, smell, or see the products side-by-side.

i cant believe no one has mentioned what truly makes some of these high end. Yes the pigmentation may be very similar but what really stands out is the long wear high end makeup tends to have better off. personally i can say that half of the high end products here last me 4x longer than the drugstore dupes (not to say there arent some great drugstore products out there) but specifically these I can say I would still pay for the high end in a heartbeat!

Don't compare urban decays naked palettes quality with that of Maybelline.Although it's my favourite drugstore brand,maybelline makes the worst eyeshadows in my opinion.They could've used a better drugstore option.A lot of drugstore eyeshadows could give urban decays naked a run for its money.Also who are these boring people?

in my experience high end makeup tends to be a lot less harsh on my skin, has way better pigment, and lasts longer.

the loreal eyeliner is problematic bc if you have oily eyelids, the eyeliner will get all over your eyes

I hate to be this person, but L'Oreal and Maybelline... So they have some decent makeup products, but they're a huge animal testing companies, where they will literally inject mascara liquid into the eyes of bunny rabbits and other animals just to see what will happen. They're required to do a certain amount of animal testing for each product, so none of the are cruelty free, and a lot of the ones that are clearly safe are the ones where the most inhumane and horrible experiments are done because they need results. PLEASE consume products responsibly and don't support these companies with your wallet. There are tons of accurate lists of animal testing companies online, so check them out...

The Stila eyeliner actually stays on pretty well. Sometimes i would put it on, go to bed and wake up with it perfectly fine in the morning and even leave it on for that day. It might be expensive but it's worth it

I would die without my still eyeliner, I've gone swimming with it on and it doesn't come off. They should give it a HUGE chance

Tbh I have that Maybelline blushed nudes and the darker colours are pretty fine in my opinion, but the lighter shades aren't pigmented enough... On my eyes it just ends up as glitter, if you apply it on the hand you can barely see the difference, they only have different shimmers.

For eyeshadow and lipstick high-end is better most of the time! for things like eyeliner, concealer drugstore brands are quite ok! Also depending on which one, I think NYX is great for lipsticks

when the "low-end" is high-end to you.

The Stila liquid liner is my favourite liner of all time, and I wear it every day. It takes a little bit of practice and a very steady hand but you can get a really amazing wing with it. Plus I can have a shower and it's still on my face after, like once its on it doesn't budge.

Stila eyeliner lasts WAY better than the loreal one though. I've gone swimming with that eyeliner and it barely moves, which is pretty impressive for a liquid liner

Milani is a tough one though because its actually really good quality products at a drugstore price! I wish we had more Milani stuff in Canada :(

A lot of lower end products have really good payoff. But it's more about lasting wear in my opinion. Lower end products don't seem to last as long sometimes. But it's hit or miss with everything and every skin type.

I am perfectly happy with my covergirl naked palette that was $10 rather than my friend who spent $50 on her naked palette, there is literally no difference they r both extremely pigmented, sparkly and hardly crease

The real test is how long the makeup stays put after a day of wearing it, especially when you have oily skin!

The l'oréal eyeliner is actually really good. Our school has this concert every year and we were full out make-up for it and the L'oréal eyeliner that I and many others (the whole school from year 7 to 12 is involved and not everyone has the make-up that's required) stayed on the whole 15 hours (it started at 6 and went to 12 and then I couldn't be bothered to take it off so I slept in all of my make-up) and it was perfect even after the shower I had in the morning. So cheaper can be better👍🏼😂

I find that I need to go high end for lip stick, eye liner, and foundation. The other stuff I can get from a drug store.

What makes a good makeup product for me is: -Longevity -Pigmentation -Blendability -Quality *sometimes even scent If the makeup product is all 4 ( or 5) of these things, and then some, it's a good makeup product ( with the exception of how it effects my skin). There are good drugstore products out there that are comparable or sometimes even better than high-end.However, in most high-end products the quality of the ingredients used in the products and the benefits of using the products (yes most of the ingredients are the same as drugstore ; however some high-end products have beneficial ingredients added to them that can be beneficial to the skin *mostly found in foundations. Ex.: Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation) are better than drugstore makeup products.If I'm buying makeup I want it to last and be worth what I'm paying for.If it makes me look poppin', IT'S GOOD. I'd rather pay $35 for a 12 shadow high-pigmented/blendable palette than pay $10 for a chalky, streaky one.
