Thank you! I had never heard of this artist. Unfortunately, the canon of Western art is almost exclusively a Euro-centric male province, so we have probably lost knowledge of many other artists. "Buy art done by living artists", someone said, "... the dead ones don't need the money".

Fulton, you have such a calm, encouraging and humble way of teaching and communicating. You have given me yet another afternoon of enjoyment and inspiration. My prints are improving thank goodness. I went to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts in the 60’s and you are right, no one would give a female artist the time of day. By the way, my painting teacher was Arthur Lismer, one of the Group of Seven. Love those beautiful small prints.

Enjoyed watching this video so much! I wanted to give you a suggestion one of the tools that I use is a zester. It’s like a citrus zester handheld has a scalloped edge with tiny holes on the end of it. It does the perfect lines.

I loved learning about this artist. It is valuable to use the black lines as an entry point to view both the inspiration piece and the inspired art! TY.

I took a class on Women in Art History and was shocked to find out that women were excluded from the traditional training programs available to men, and that even today, some collectors will shy away from art created by women because they think it won't appreciate in value as much as a male artists would. So Michael was very smart to masculinize her name. Some female artists succeeded despite not having access to the classical training, but it is a small number compared to the number of successful male artists. The class was very interesting but also made me angry, having grown up with women's liberation. There's still a long way to go! Thanks Fulton for introducing us to this artist. I liked what you created to pay homage to her. I wonder how you choose the artists you feature. Are you reading art history books that provide the inspiration to focus on specific artists?

While studying I learned about Lee Krasner, Elaine de Kooning (I preferred her work than her husbands) and Helen Frankenthaler. I fell in love with Helen's work ... 😊❤

I only discovered your channel yesterday afternoon. I am so impressed and inspired. I shall borrow my wife's Gelli plate and have a go myself, later on today. I would love to know what paper the black one you used is. Is it also acid free and how thick is it please? The music you played as you pasted the black paper on to the yellow piece, went so well with the image. Could you tell me who the jazz group are please? That is if you don't mind.
