@@husseinali9812 lol. Kipyegon ran a national record herself. What do you mean weakest ? She stuck to 1500m and arguably is the best miler ever. But she 'll never double a 1500 with 10k. Or run 5k, 10k and a marathon in one week.. What Hassan did in Doha, Tokyo and Paris were incredible coups de force .
Hassan's closing speed was scary this season. She usually chills in the back till the last laps. In this race she wanted to kill them, she decided to lead from the front just to punish them.
What she did here reminded me of what Bekele did in the 5,000 in the Beijing Olys: put crap in the competition's legs with some fast running earlier, then waltz away from them on the last lap. Unbeatable.
agreed! i cant spend the entire saturday watching and still have no regrets! i revisit old races, and watch all sorts of analysis and i am still majorly intrigued
Kipyegon winning silver and NR is incredible considering the fact that she came back from maternity and only ran 5 races prior to this championships. Congratulations Faith.
@@123jogger123 faith slowed down at the end, she could have made a faster time perhaps 3:52. She and Hassan are very competitive, they dont care much about the times. Hassan all the way at the end kept looking back.
It was remarkable but no one can say maternity kept her from winning. Even though she was beaten by more than 3 seconds, it was her PB; faster than before she became a mother. That fact that Hassan did not languish at the back for most of the race like she always does meant this was going to be a fast race and the results for the top 7 showed it. When Hassan went to the front early I could read the thoughts of the other runners which, to sum it up, must have been "Oh Crap! Not this early!"
Hassan controlled everything. Look how she strolls to the start line, starts at the back then sweeps round to the front at 200m. She could have runn2-3 seconds quicker
Some runners use this technique to give them a chance to "move into" the race. The great Kip Keino was always last over the first 200-400m of a 1500m. He would then cruse around the field into the lead, exactly the way Hassan did.
I found I have to do this tactic actually. I have to start my first 100 to 150 slow and then speed up. If I do it any other way, I run slower. It is like my body isn't warmed up or something
Yea, people seem to forget that. She's been running for quite a while and improving all the time, barely missing gold on several occasions. Now her hard work has paid off some idiots are attempting to call her a cheat. She's rather not run at all than to cheat. Muir implied her coach was dirty so was she. Didn't like Muir from that point forward. Was happy to see her running backward down the stretch when Hassan turned on the afterburners.
@@SPharaoh Many win with no tactics just run to the front and run them all into the ground. Like David Rudisha 800m 2012 or going back to Filbert Bayi 1500m WR in the 1974 commonwealth games: I was a double state champion at CC and 800m. You assume too quickly 😆
@@SPharaoh It’s nice to have running memories. Sounds like you did very well too. I gave up running to train to be a physio and after a doctor and then sports medicine specialist. So I deal with elite athletes. All the best 🥇
@@APBCTechnique You have done more to impact the running world and sports in general. Keep it up. I’ve gone to the US military and served my country for years which I’m really glad I did. I’ve invested big on Amazon and Tesla over a decade ago when they very low compare to what they’re now. That gamble paid off for me so much. I’m grateful. I’m ice fishing at this very moment listening to the wolves howling in the bitter bone chilling cold (feels like -13°F) in near Kootenai National Forrest, western Montana closer to US/Canada border. All I do is fly on my little airplane, hunt, lift in the gym, and go fishing with my wife. We were in the Florida Keys last month fishing. You would never think I ever ran in my life as I nearly doubled in weight from 122lbs being 6ft 3in to 210lbs. Invest in oil while it’s down. Best wishes.
Hassan was outstanding but OMG what Kipyegon did after just having a baby! A PB and NR...that's crazy! You can still see the stretch marks and loose skin all over her abdomen. Her, SFP, and Felix inspiring all us mothers out here!
Hassan is a great runner and always rooting for her,but gotta give it up for the new mom my Faith 🙌🏾 who gave it all after coming from maternity. She didn't even compete much when she came to Doha but my Faith came through🔥😍 and the there's still 2021 since 2020 is cancelled😐!
This performance still blows my mind. Given she'd already run the 10k, 2x1500 rounds, no pacing and she ran from the front nearly the whole way it's more impressive than Kipyegon's world records.
@@Tigerex966 Beat Hassan in Beijing 2015, Rio 2016, London 2017 , Tokyo 2020 and has a PB of almost a second better than Hassan, from a race which they both lined up. That's being smoked.
@@felistergatwiri7134 a second i not smoked, the person that came in last was smoked, i like bothg women they are true track stars. and have the medals to prove it olympic and otherwise.
eh the announcers were too focused on laura muir's gallant attempt. instead, they should've been clocking and remarking about sifan hassan's incredible lowering of each lap time. instead of the predictable tactical major women's 1500 meters final, sifan boldly ran the sixth fastest performance- nearly from the gun. sub 4:10 mile... sub whatever she wants to run in the W1500. go sifan GO!!
mike nealon agreed, though being a British broadcast to UK viewers, made a bit of sense to hype her. She’s a good “time” runner, but not a great racer. Top 5, always seemingly short of big podiums.
@@steve-from-toronto i kinda agree steve except i saw 2019 as sifan's step up. out of that, always the bridesmaid thing. her WR mile before the champs, settin' her up for the podium top
@@kellywillis8091 Yup. Same here. It's frustrating watching her run at the back for most of her races when she is obviously the fastest and has more stamina than any of them. Did you see the semifinals for this event? Frustrating. At the bell she was still at the back. I think she does this deliberately to tick me off. lol
@@felistergatwiri7134 u can't compare sifan with kipyegon..I agree kipyegon is simply brillant at 1500m ...but Hassan's range is incomparable..she is a 10000 and 5000m Olympic gold medalist..and also Hassan has beaten her quite a few times at 1500m...let's see their next match
@@PaachuKAhukm Faith Kipyegon beats her when it matters. She has the gold medals. Silver ahead of Hassan in Beijing 2015 when Faith was 21, Rio gold, London 2017 gold, silver in this race after pregnancy and maternity leave, Tokyo gold. Has a PB which is almost a second faster. Sifan only beat her when she was trying to regain her pre- maternity form. She's always been the better 1500m runner. With times and with championship medals
