You do NOT have the proper angle to see where the implement landed. The OFFICIALS who are right there at the perfect angle to see it are the ones who know where it came down. Unless you’ve stood in a discus field and marked- thousands of times as I and these officials have- you’re in no position to speak on the subject.

There’s a reason- it increases grip for the athlete without having to use any kind of sticky substance- which isn’t permitted. It’s her discus so she can do it if she chooses. Quit being such a whiny child.

You don’t know the sport then- at all. I’ve officiated the sport for decades and have seen personal bests bigger even than that. It’s a part of progression, breaking through a level spot to find the next plateau much like in weight training. Because she broke through and found a big, technically exact throw when it mattered most doesn’t mean it’s “shady,” get real.
