Unlike 100m dash there is a need for a lot of filler talk when the race is going to take forever to finish. There are only so many times you can repeat who's in what place before it gets redundant.
Surprise, the tall runner goes down. She was all over the track before that. Where exactly was she trying to go less than halfway into the race? What positioning was so crucial that she had to get to less than 3 laps into the race?
@Anonymous Troll Demon - if the commentator was talking to cricket fans, there would be long bouts of silence followed by "Oooh, there's some pigeons on the track, I wonder what they have found...?"
@phillylifer you do know that there are people who watch sports in which they don't participate right? Usually if it's a sport most people don't watch or play, the commentators do more explaining because they don't assume everyone watching is an expert in that sport.

@@Celeritate7 I wouldn't use the word Stupid........ But they do learn this in practice to move out of the way correctly. That all said...... This race is so Chaotic I would probably Mess up too. Running the first two races is just crazy crowded......
