I'm a waxer at European Wax Center and I have to say the number 1 thing I always hear is how painful Brazilians are. After I do the service they are always satisfied because we use hard wax opposed to soft wax. All I can say is to prep your skin before going in to get waxed. Exfoliation and keeping the skin clean and moisturized are the top things I can recommend for a smooth and efficient wax. A lot of people don't know that so I'm just putting it out there.

PeachyMangoPie i personally don’t use lotion down there, instead I use vitamin e oil everywhere and it works great! Maybe try that if you’re not comfortable with putting lotion down there

I got my first Brazilian yesterday, and it was totally NOT A BIG DEAL. The lady was so professional, the environment was so relaxing and accepting and it didn’t hurt as bad as a lot of people make it seem. It only hurts for a few seconds. I’ll never shave again!!

I'm Brazilian and I always thought that waxing was a regular thing worlwide, just like brushing your teeth, bathing etc. I was blown away when I found that waxing isn't common outside of Brazil and that they even named it Brazilian Wax. Wow.

Just got my first one and it was not even half as bad as I thought. It was so quick and maybe a 4 or 5/10 on the pain scale. Several hours later and no soreness or irritation. I don’t think I will ever shave again!

I’m an esthetician and do Brazilians all day every day. When it’s someone’s first time, yes they yell a little bit sometimes, and it’s ok. I mean it HURTS! I get them done because they help me avoid ingrown hairs and the first time there were tears in my eyes! I feel like maybe she wasn’t that experienced if she honestly hasn’t had people that scream a little...? Just a thought🤷🏼‍♀️

Waxing is the way to go. It lasts for weeks, no razor bumps, or ingrowns . My girl does it in less than 10 minutes and barely any discomfort unless Ive gone too long and the hair is a bit longer but by the time there is any slight pain, its gone within a second. I highly recommend to give it a try. Ill never go back to shaving.

I get ingrown hairs when I go au natural in the pubic area. I exfoliate and don't shave (shaving makes it worse) Waxing has been a great alternative for me. Although I will say that all the men I've had long-term relationships with say that they feel uncomfortable when I am 100% hair free. They say it creeps them out like they are with a child

I remember when I was driving to my FIRST EVER Brazilian wax appointment I WAS SHITTING BRICKS. I almost busted a u turn and went back home! THANKFUL I NEVER DID! CHANGED MY LIFE! It’s a bit painful but it’s worth it in the end! Ive always had bad experiences with razors. I would put of shaving for months because of it! Thankfully I don’t have to deal with itchness, razor bumps, or razor cuts anymore! I am NOW smooth for weeks and my hair grows back thinner! It’s a bit painful but BEAUTY IS PAIN! LADIES THIS IS UR SIGN… GO FOR IT! I know it can be a bit out of your comfort to show ur parts to a random stranger but just remember that YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL and ITS NORMAL!! GOOD LUCK!!

My first time was hella painful I remember that I was crying. But once I was used to it, it wasn't a problem anymore. It takes just 10-15 minutes and you are all clean. I think it's worth it.

Just had my first Brazilian wax. The pain wasn’t fun, but bearable. Just take some deep breaths. I do have some blood spotting from the pores and blood under the skin, but that’s completely normal for first timers. All-n-all, I would do it again.

Every person reading this: this is NOT a regular or even one-time occurrence for "most" women. Hair on all humans is normal and natural and if you have a friend or partner (or nosey stranger) who is bullying you into getting any of it removed, say no and MOVE ON.

How is this “part of the problem”? There *is* a problem with women being pressured to remove their pubic hair, but if a woman chooses to get her pubic hair removed through waxing, I don’t see how that’s an issue. If she’s being pressured, sure there’s a problem. No one tells me to get my pubic hair waxed, I’m not even sexually active. I do it for myself because *I* like it. I know the hair is normal. Doesn’t mean I have to want it there.

My thoughts exactly! Some women are so stupid and think that everyone gets a bikini wax (not even talking about Brazilian) and therefore they must or their boyfriend\husband wil think them a freak. I told my fiancée that if he would like me to do one than he has to have full body laser done (he's really hairy). Never heard a peep about the subject again.

Okay here's the thing: I went to the brazilian wax thinking about videos like this, when it's painful, but not much (and I've had piercing before, so I can tolerate pain). BUT it's a totally different story when you you have thick hair. As soon as first piece went of I was like "Okay I'm good now, bye". We finished all of the area, the lady was super nice and professional, I got a numb spray to make it easier but still it was VERY painful, literally like ripping your skin.

Wow.. I watched this video to see how other people coped with the pain. I couldn't believe they took the pain so well and had smiles on their faces while it was happening. My experience as a guy was the total opposite when my girlfriend waxed me. If there was a meter out there that measures pain tolerance I'd buy it yesterday.

The pain from a Brazilian changes from person to person. If you get waxed right before of during your period, the pain is worse. It’s also a lot worse if you have thicker / coarser hair. Peoples pain tolerance also comes in to play, too. I find it strange that ‘no one’s ever yelled’ with this aesthetician..

Here in Argentina is normal to wax your entire body. You’re seen as “weird” if you shave. The last year I went to wax you know... down there. And the women didn’t stripped it at once but like at three little parts. She pulled first and I started crying and tell her it hurt a lot but the wax was already applied so she had to pull it off, there was no option. I leaved the place with eyes swollen from crying and walking like a cowboy. I’m stick to my razor since then.

I honestly love waxing. I hate that it hurts but once it’s done the results are way better than shaving. When I shave I get horrible razor burn, Ingrown hairs, and irritation. The only reason I haven’t done it lately is I can’t afford it. $70+ a month (that’s how often I have to do it and how much it costs in my area) is something I can’t really afford all the time

Pop two tylenols before you head over there, and you'll be good to go. Yeah, it hurts at some places, but its like an instantaneous hurt and it doesn't linger and it is just soooooo smooth and nice! Totally worth it in my opinion if you like being hairless. If you like hair, then keep it - It's exasperating to me that people keep saying something like 'society makes this' or 'society paints women as', like, if you, as an individual want to have full-on pubes, then cool. If you like trimmed hair, then cool. If you like to be completely smooth, then cool! I think we have our own individuality and can decide everything for ourselves and not say 'society wants things a certain way'. Ok, rant over.

However society does expect women to be smooth all over. A lot of men expect that too and they drive society opinion a whole lot on this matter due to some influences like porn. You can't discount peer pressure and people's reactions about body hair due to the society conditioning. Yes we have our individuality but we can't always breeze along on it because a lot of women get told they have to be a certain way to get ahead in life

I went to my first obgyn appointment when I was 18 so I decided to groom myself but I also died my pubes black to match my head hair (I’m a natural red head) and the dye stained my skin. When the doctor looked at me she gasped and asked if I had been kicked by a horse then proceeded to laugh at me. She made me cry Not only that but I had to get an ultrasound done for my PCOS so I’m sitting in the waiting room crying and all the pregnant women probably think I’m crying because I’m pregnant.

It does get better, I promise! Sometimes it just depends on who you go to or what wax they use! Try someone new! But also remember, waxing isn’t for everyone and that’s okay!
