Ok not trying to be rude or racist because my hubby is white and he agrees with me 100% but I feel that when a white person has features or does something that culturally is related to WOC it's all of a sudden becomes popular. Also when Kendall Jenner styled her hair with corn rolls and shared the picture on Twitter and the writer of whatever the magazine is called said it was new and epic style or something along that line. They are not making themselves famous, put the blame where it belongs, people that care about celeb culture, and make them famous. You guys need to understand that some women of color have had these features for centuries and have ridiculed for them but once a rich, entitled White girl does it by UNNATURAL means it's considered "beautiful". Imagine being told that you aren't pretty just because you are an "other"? So instead of attacking the women who have been made to believe that they are ugly for the things nature gave them, you should questioning why is that we punish women of color for their natural state but reward rich White women of having those features by means of artifice.
I think it's just because as you probably know, most white women don't have full lips so when people see a white women with full lips, they think "wow! For a white woman that's very different, looks beautiful!". It's just like if a black woman who were to have naturally blue eyes, people would think the same, like "wow! It's just that (historically and presently) [white] people constantly made fun of black people for having full lips. Now, however, because of Kylie Jenner's (who is just a white 17 year old girl) whole lip fiasco, the media (which is very white-centered) is now embracing full lips and treating it like some new trend, while people (generally black people) are offended because having full lips isn't something new. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with Kylie Jenner having full lips. It's not gonna end the world or give everyone cancer, so really, I'm confused why the media and general public made such a big deal about it-and still are. All people can have big lips, but most people that have them are black, simply because of geographical origins. It's also unfair to compare green eyes to big lips as people have not been ridiculed for green eyes, at least not to the same extent as black people for their lips.

Claudia G. I already said that big lips, as well as skin colour/melanin content has to do with your ancestor's geographical origins. Big lips help with cooling the body, which is the more critical the closer you live to the equator. As moisture evaporates from the skin it cools down the body, and the bigger surface area of the lips helps with that. That's why people who's ancestors lived up North have smaller, thinner lips to keep heat from escaping the body and light skin as there isn't a similar need for protection from the sun. There's nothing racist about that, merely genetics and survival of the fittest. Now, if we start to use these facts to ridicule a group of people, like black people have been ridiculed for their bigger lips and skin colour, we enter the territory of racism. That's also why it is appropriation to call these lips a "fashion" or "Kylie Jenner lips". Appreciation of a certain look is fantastic, but let's not give credit to people who do not deserve it. I acknowledge that I'm not the best person to talk about this, being a white woman, but I am repeating and indirectly quoting the words of black people I know to be more informed and capable of talking about this issue.

They're using "Kylie Jenner lip techniques" in makeup, if you know any better, Kylie uses darker lip liner around her lip lines and sort of create a gradient effect by adding lighter colours, so it's not about achieving her unnatural huge lips, it's using her technique of makeup of achieving it, like applying powder with wet sponge for example, not everyone looks good with huge lips, like how not many looks good with Korean straight thick brows, and this video is a fact that shows that, personally, I like undefined lips more than huge thick lips

Full lips aren't limited to just Africans or other black people. Spend a day in South East Asia or the Middle East and you'll see what I mean.

Yes, agreed 100% it just bothers me when certain races brag that only they have certain features and nobody else does. People are starting to change and other races are starting to have similar features as eachother. I know it could be from family decent or the fact the person is mixed.

I think I'm actually more offended by some of the comments saying Black women don't have the right to feel upset. Yea all ethnicities can have big lips but come on let's be real Black is the most common, just like blonde hair is most common on White women. It goes much deeper than "just lips." Big noses and big lips are some of the main traits black people naturally have- traits that were made fun of. Do you know about blackface? If not please look it up. White people have made fun of these traits for a very long time. And now all of a sudden a white girl draws on big lips and it's "trendy." Im going to stop wearing makeup because I realized that people are going to be used to seeing me with a 'perfect' face and when I take off the makeup they're going to be weirded out and say insensitive things like "you look weird without makeup" and I want to get people used to my uglyness so its not so much of a problem anymore later on
