In the first episode of our brand new show #WomenWeLove Rajeev Masand chats with actress #SonaliBendre about beating #cancer and overcoming her fears, while inspiring women with her incredible strength and spirit.
She is a very balanced person, even when she was in her prime she was just doing her work and was not into any controversy. She is stable in her personal life too. One of the most beautiful women of India
Having undergone an Ovarian cancer myself, just over a year ago, I could relate to every bit of what Sonali is saying. Each and every word and each & every feeling. The treatment is scarier than the disease. In my case it was genetic and all my siblings have had cancer. Even then undergoing it one self is a totally unnerving experience. Sonali, thanks for sharing. Rajeev, you are a very sensitive human being. Thank you so much for a wonderful interaction.
God Bless her.. Well she is a rich, has money to get better treatment, but not everyone has that. So a request to everyone instead of focusing on prevention focus on precautions. And as she said earlier the diagnosis, higher the chance of surviving. .so keep getting health check up frequently. Don't take any risk with your health. Maintain a healthy life and stay happy..and Spread happiness. :)
well depression, stress and fear everyone has that, the one who come out from these is the real winner which she is. I know she has money but it needs a lot of courage to accept it and stand out which doesn't come through money.
@@sidhartha8444 never judge anyone by their money, first you don't know what they have been gone through as a human being, you don't know how worse their situation was when they weren't rich? nobody gets rich when they born(except a kid born in rich family), they have to earn it. I know all these because i have seen struggles of some people who are very rich now
B sure she lost millions without insurance in USA or Europe.. and as a stage 4 cancer, she wont live more than 3-4 years, god forbid, but b sure she must b bankrupt by now. We all know many people cant afford certain treatments, but this is her story and we shud respect and wish her only goog health
Everyone I see her or hear her talking, my tears come out of joy. She is such a lovely, intelligent and well educated person. Great personality and great nature too. Beauty with a brain. Looking nice in any kind of hair cut.❤️💙💚💛💜💖
My wife and I have journeyed through the jagged path of cancer and we are survivors because of our faith in the Almighty God. My wife had such an aggressive type of cancer that not only she had to endure rigorous chemo and radiation she also had various invasive surgeries. There were days when it was so painful to take a step forward and it felt like we could not fight anymore, Thank God, we both are in remission and we seldom eat outside and focus on eating healthy home cooked food.
God bless u both, healthy & long life. My mother has been thru same. I break down when I think of that time but She always remains optimistic. I wonder how. Though c is completely recovered, but I can't sleep thinking what if it comes back again in life, I suffer a lot. Plz give ur blessings for my mother too.
Respect to every person battling cancer.. N Sonali mam you are an inspiration. A smile that hides a tide of tears and anguish which like every cancer fighter goes through. You overcome your own worst fears to be with those you love and be for them, (not getting bogged down by the dreaded disease even on the worst days). It's true.. you can't be positive all the time. esp in such a life threatening situation. The coolest actress from the late 90s. ever smiling. simple
The fact that so many people comment here saying she has money so she did it , ok she has money so she got the best treatment. But her words are surely an inspiration for anyone going through this horrible disease. Here you see a person looking at a normal life and living it, inspite of the C word.Yes it does inspire me.
The questions I wanted to ask. 1. When was the first time you realized something was wrong? 2. What were your symptoms that made you realize you need to go to the doctor? 3.what was you first reaction when the doctor told you that you have cancer? 3. What was your husband’s reaction? 4. At what point did you decide to go to America for treatment? 5. Why did you go to America for treatment? 6. What kind of treatments were done? 7. What was the extract diagnosis? 8. What celebrities came to visit you in America? 9.how were the treatments going? 10. When did you realize the results were positive after your treatment? 11. Is the cancer 100% cured? Etc etc
Asking about the "first time" something happened could be highly triggering for a cancer survivor. Rajeev cleverly asked her sensitive question without going down the easy route which would be to ask those questions and make her cry and use that as a thumbnail and get 100K more views. I applaud him for that. Of course I'm as curious as you about these things and they are very valid questions but I think sometimes some things are not as necessary for us to know if they would cause that much discomfort to the other person in telling them. X
Xander Zalander She doesn’t talk about it because she was not asked.. but it is important, Also considering how much she’s been through.. talking about symptoms & such should be easy... just, she was not asked to get into details! If she’s asked, she would!
There are lots of people in the whole world who gets diagnosed with such serious health issues, but not necessarily have opportunities and most imp money to cure it. so what one should take away from this video is that not to ignore even a small unhealthy change in your body and keep yourself and your loved ones medically checked frequently or whenever it is necessary. May God bless Sonali ma'am with a long life full of happiness bcoz she has gone through her path of hardships, now its time for her to live with happiness and lead a healthy life further.
Such a strong willed, inspirational, beautiful woman Sonali is who’s gone through so much but came out victorious! Wow, truly amazing personality! God bless..
wow what an interview Rajeev !!! Lovely and senseful questions without crossing the line of personal and private....And each and every word she said made so much sense, but my favorite is "relationships and thats what the real wealth is" !!! More power to Sonali and god bless her
I wish everyone with cancer can say it so easily that "what if it is cancer I will manage it" as the treatment is so expensive most of people loose their battle there only.
More power to you Sonali for being so modest and taking this whole experience so positive. Not just cancer there are so many others issues we are dealing with be it health, life and this only helps to look at life differently ....thank you for sharing 👍👏🏻
Her story is truely inspiring..Such a brave and honest person..More strength and courage to her..May God bless her and her family More strength , More courage and Good health...
I am so glad I watched this video. She has pointed out so many genuine feelings. I believe it's human nature to feel all the possible feelings of lows and highs when faced with any situation that's difficult. It's so important to have loved ones and support circle to share and to know that one is never alone. I am so glad to see her become who she is today.
She is definitely the women I love.....😊 And totally agree with you Rajeev...she is the best person to start this series with.... Loved it and definitely get inspired by her......😍
I just read that that ur cancer stage was stage IV and you had only 30% chance of living i can't believe u passed through that ur a fighter ur positive attitude also got you through this face instead of dying in fear you behaved positively it's great !! I know you have money and you guys can treat it in America or any other country so anyone should try avoiding stress and try regular testing so you can survive!!
Love u sonali. Your are a survivor. I Admire ur courage and honesty to talk about this. Not everyone can do this.I have someone very close to close to me suffering for 15 years. But every time I see her she reminds me of a tiger , metaphorically, her spirit is so fierce so alive. People like that are an inspiration.
i really love this interview. When ever Sonali's name comes in my mind every time a naughty girl come in my mind a girl with full of joy but after watching this I am really happy that she copped up with her situations and is standing tall and giving others motivation to fight with it. I am commenting from Pakistan, I think that many Indian friends of mine will bash me that why I am commenting here I have no rights lol but the thing is bollywood is not just urs it belongs to everyone who can understand Hindu or watches Bollywood movies
Thank you so much for commenting. We in India really appreciate your kind words for Sonali. And of course, bollywood belongs to everybody, not just Indians. That's the beauty of cinema. Have a good day!
I'm a 90's kid and so far only found 2 Indian actresses to be a total knockout when it comes to beauty, one is Aishwarya another Sonali bendre.Nobody I repeat nobody holds a candle to them this deepika, Katrina all overrated in terms of beauty, These 2 are the real deal.😘😘😘😘😘
Ever heard the saying "Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder". You should have said in a way that suggested your take on beauty but the line you wrote " i repeat......." seems dominating and a oppressive comment. She is beautiful . I like her but you don't know how to comment. Your comment seems oppressive.
When she debuted in Tamil with Kadhalar Dhinam in 1999, her breathtaking beauty swept us all off our feet. Every song in the film felt like it was penned exactly for her and AR Rahman couldn't have done more justice to it! Looking at her now reminds us of the sobering fact - time and tide spares none. Wishing her a wonderful life from here !!
Love ur spunk Sonali ... all said and done.... just wish if every cancer patient would have the money to treat and cure them of of this deadly disease... the world would have many Sonaalis to share their experience..
Sonali, you are such an amazing woman who had inspired the many with all your strenght to face and accept life just the way it comes and goes and termed with every aspect of it cheeefully, confidently and glamorously. Listening to your personal testimony on how you had miraculously recovered yourself from cancer is perhaps one kind of hope for those who are still battling for life with cancer. Every single word that you publicly uttered on how you had strongly and coped with those traumatic moments of bearing all the pains of cancer in your body had proved that you are one such cancer survivor who firmly believed that personal strenght is part and parcel of a healing process that positively contribute towards a holistic recovery of sickness body, mind and soul...May God bless you with a healthy life and years ahead..
People who talk about having money and that’s why she’s cured. Cancer doesn’t respond to money if so my grandmother would be here after she passed away from colon cancer. My grandad worked in a hospital and had every treatment available, she was only 60! So guys don’t trivialize someone’s pain and battle by these petty comments.
Twiggy was the supermodel that created the short hair culture for women. She is a Londoner from the UK. She is also a singer and actress and TV presenter as well. She inspired so many women to have short hair around the world. However, this is the first time ever that I see an Indian woman with such short hair. Most of Indian women prefer long hair because it suits them best, and I agree with that. In my opinion hair length and color does not make any difference in beauty for white women, but for Indian women, long hair is best for their looks.
Seeing her interview reminded me of my best friend who lost her battle to cancer 2 years back leaving her 5 year old son behind. She used to smile and stay positive through out her treatment. but unfortunately could not win this battle. :(
Sonali is so lovely. And an absolute joy to listen to. Also it's so heartwarming to learn I have so much in common with her - a love for dogs, books, all shades of grey. I always thought she has the best smile I've ever seen! I hope she always wears it and stays healthy and happy.
