This is insane! Took me literally months to finish this when I was a kid and the whole game can be done in under 36 minutes? Amazing skill on the part of the guy who's playing.
Technically, it can't be done in under 36 minutes. lol You need to get hearts and buy equipments. What they did is impossible if not for a TAS. Anyway, my favorite game on the system!
yeah i saw this, clearly the flying fish part is a glitch, but what was the legit way to do this? because only lizard man is immune to lava unless you have is it dragon mail? idk, but i remember that i clearly didnt work out the correct way to solve that part, due to the fact that i was piranha man and i would need 3 medicines and as many hearts as you can have at this time in the game, and my strategy was to jump through the long lava lake because i saw no other way, this meant i would get burned to a crisp and my success was determined by the RNG of the medicine as to how many hearts they would decide to heal me, if i got 1 or 2 full heals then i was golden, but sometimes you would only get a small heal. Clearly i was doing it wrong, but if its stupid and it works then its not stupid.
as a matter of fact i think i remember getting dragon mail armor, as in the correct and legit way to complete this, and being immune to lava in the end, i could be wrong.
I never made it past the ninjas with the lion-man. But I still recognised all the levels until then and also all the songs. Some of the songs (as well as the ones from the previous Wonder Boy games) have been to my mind once in a while. Can't say the same about any game from the last 15 years or so. One question: Is Piranha-Man supposed to fly through the levels?
