This costume looks so expensive! You could l have told me it cost you $1000 and I would have believed you. Cardboard? Craft foam? Acrylic paint and glue? Get out of town!! This is the first video of yours I've ever seen so I am total newbie when it comes to your methods. WOW!

Just wow, really! I remember we had to seriously use imagination as kids and all our costumes were just suggestions, made out of paper but they did the trick for a short session of play. You have taken a major leap with these creations, so professional and your use of colour and texture is awe-inspiring. Very nicely done, well done to you, and well done to your parents for contributing such a fortunate genetic combination, providing you with such a great template for your characters!

When pattern making, you can draw only one side and flip the pieces over to get the reverse side to cut down on work and time.

dear Alyson. wonderful tutorial! may i add a tip. when tracing the patern on your chestpiece. rry using 2 colored pencils. one for the sketch and one for the final patern lines. this way you end up with way better symmetry and overall precision. hope it is helpful.
