Wonder Woman Review (Non-Spoiler)

Nope.

Honestly i think this is the best DC movie ever made outside of the Nolan trilogy...Gal Gadot's casting is so up there with Chris Reeve and i grew up watching Superman 1,2 & 3 and wanted to be that guy.I loved Patty Jenkins nods to the first Superman movie with the revolving door and back alley gunshots.Is it perfect...no...but is any movie perfect...and this movie is so perfectly timed and needed with what is happening in the world today

There's also one very subtle nod to Lynda Carter's WW. Linda's twirling to transform from Diana to WW couldn't have been copied, it would have been too ridiculous. But Gal does transform from Diana to WW in an instant. And it happens in what for me, & many others I suspect, is the most emotionally uplifting segment of the movie. Our group of protagonists entered the trenches as a team, with Steve basically leading. Steve - "Diana we have to go." Diana - "We need to help these people." Steve - "We can't save everyone in this war." Diana - "How can you say that? What is the matter with you?" Steve - "This in no man's land, this is not something you can cross, it's not possible. It's not what we came here to do." This short interaction perfectly displays the dynamics between Steve and Diana at this point. He the war weary pragmatist, she, though a powerful demi-godess, still also a naïve young woman, being led through this world that is new to her. At the point where Steve says, "It's not what we came here to do", Steve's face can be seen, but we only see Diana from behind and from the right. Her hair is tied up, so we can presume that she's dressed in her 1918 clothes. The next instant, from a different angle, Gal turns around, her hair is flowing free, and she's no longer Diana, she's WW, tiara in place. Steve - "It's not what we came here to do." WW - "No, but it's what I'm going to do." That scene, and the battle that follows, is as emotionally uplifting as anything I've seen in any action movie. This is why I think all the praise that has been heaped on Gal for this performance is fully justified. She conveys a wonderful range of emotions in this movie.

Jose Striedinger Yeah, but to be fair, none of my female friends or coworkers care about superhero movies, and I'm a nurse so I have a LOT of female coworkers. I can only ever discuss my enjoyment of the superhero movies mostly with men, and I don't think this movie is going to change that, unfortunately. I just think that certain movie genres are preferred more by women than by men, and vice versa. Maybe this movie will open the eyes of those people not willing to give superhero movies a shot, I hope so.

actually women love romance, marriage and that is why twilight is important for women BTW not all women want to be like wonder woman most want to be just FEMININE WOMEN !

A Unique Disposition Well if it makes you feel better, in this film, ww does everything. Her sidekicks are almost useless, Diana is the one at the center of everything

AL K Supposedly, Justice League will undergo a “massive reshoot,” so they may give Wonder Woman a more defined arc in JL, considering the positive reactions from movie critics toward the WW movie.

A Unique Disposition From what I understood, the reshoot has a lot to do with the fact that a new director is running the show. Regardless, reshoot are common for blockbuster movies

Cleostabtra Well, the movie has guns in it as it's set in World War I. But, it doesn't glorify the use of weapons. If anything, it does the total opposite.

Cleostabtra By "against guns", I assume you meant against violence in films. They are action scenes, some involves guns, some involves bombs, others are swords fights. Nothing bloody nor graphic

Not sure exactly what you're referring to but they mentioned the 40's as the era when Wonder Women comics were first printed, not the era where the comics (or movie) were set.

Adam Hlavac I like diversity, I'm asking for it by asking for yours or Hector's review (I also like the other guy, but couldn't remember his name... Augosto? I followed you three from Superhero News). I also like female critics, I could list all the female reviewers I've watched so far, but that's a little much. I just don't like feeling pandered to bc it's a female led superhero film. I would have preferred at least one male reviewer on the panel, if diversity is what you're going for. And also, I do like yours, Hector's and Augosto's (?) reviews on film. If this wasn't your intention with the panel, my apologies. That's just how it came across to me.

Jennifer Ramos as a channel it's important to have other voices be heard and the perspective these 3 brought were the perspective of 3 young women and they spoke to the film from that point of view. It wasn't pandering, it was the 3 biggest WW fans who work in the office and that's a review we'd like to get out, having a male, any male, on the panel makes for a different video. This is the video we wanted to make.

Cameron Rice Thanks for the response. If this was the video you wanted to make, I respect that. I personally love comic book movies and am usually the only one or the only one of the FEW of my female friends who does. So I understand wanting to get the female voice heard, the one that's usually not heard from as much when it comes to comic book movies. I just think the channel as a whole should try to do that with all reactions and reviews, not just for the female led films. Of the 8 movie reviews in Hyper RPGs reviews playlist, only this one had a solely female panel, all the others had no women or less women than men. Of the 37 reaction videos in Hyper RPGs reaction playlist (not including the 2 that were private), only two had either more women than men or an equal number of women and men, none had only women. I would like to hear the female opinion on all sorts of films, not just WW.

Nostalgic Bliss Look, the film is about the comic symbol for women. First female superhero film or this crazy Comic book film era. One of the few films directed by a woman. Jessica Chastain just made the news at Cannes because women dont get good roles. Really few critics will dare to go against WW
