I’m with you. Sadly this cliche has been used a lot in movies, particularly musical films set during this age for scenes like these, so the director doesn’t really think twice about depicting society that way back in the day. Makes me wonder if high class people back then were snobbish and foolish enough to do such things just cause they wanted their money back, but then again, this is how Hollywood depicts them. Anyone in their right mind knows better than that, because that ain’t the way to go. Such crimes and misdemeanor would lead to guilty charges or arrest, so by any chance if the police charged his shop customers, serves them right. But in the world cinema, starting a riot in a candy store has no legislation limits. Strange, isn’t it. Still I agree with you and especially look down on the woman who cut the lamp free from the ceiling if she knew what would come next just cause her daughter has a mustache now. I wouldn’t ever invite her in the store again after that incident should the shop be rebuilt since she’s quick to judge without hesitation or second thought. Also Hollywood has to stop repeating this cliched stereotype of depicting high class society back in the day when starting a riot, even going as far as doing stuff against what the law says. People back then in the real world of all social classes knew better, and if they ever did such things which is quite rare in fact, they were just in need of psychology therapist to help them keep their head straight. Although once again, even in the real world today, there are still people who riot contrary to earlier statement. They should know better.

I literally just got done reading the novelization of Wonka (which was awesome BTW and even included a few extra scenes that weren't in the film) and yeah, Scrubbit and Bleacher went down to the washhouse, found Tiddles on Willy Wonka's Wild and Wonderful Wishy, Washy, Wonka Walker, and found his supply of Yeti Sweat. I didn't catch that in the film! Good for you for noticing it though! You're awesome!
