As a newer crocheter who has never done a woobles pack, i was let down that there was no hook for the first day and all we got was stuffing. Also my husband is trying to teach me restraint and challenging me to to open ahead so if i was to follow this by the day i wouldn't be able to do anything all month.
@@katie3iscreative I honestly have no idea, I'm still trying to understand why they put Christmas colored stitch markers at the end...like now they are "out of season" lol and I was bothered that the elf didn't have enough tan in mine to even finish the last decrease.
@@AdaKiGaines same, i have this advent calendar and i had to redo the round to have a smaller tail, its their first one so they have next year to improve, honestly i am probably going to be getting a different brand next year but still had fun.
@@katie3iscreative agree, I had fun making mine as well as making cute videos with what each day had. I probably will also try a different company next year too just to give something else a try.
@@AdaKiGaines Mine came in this morning and I love it. I'm so glad they took everyone's comments to heart and made it hella better. Plus you get 5 hooks this time and not just one in the middle of the calendar.
At 100 plus bucks I think we should see two hooks. Loved the number of patterns and tin....i really think that a second tin and only having one day hold notions (pins, markers needles etc
I think it's worth the price point. It's cute, but the order doesn't make sense. wouldn't the hook and stitch markers come in the first couple of days?
Thank you soooo much for doing this! 🥳 I appreciate you so much! I think the hook and stitch markers should have been in the beginning, however I have no restraint, so the order wouldnt really matter to someone like me… but for sticklers to the rule, I can see that as a wth moment. 😂 They also just released a Harry Potter set and individual Harry Potter wooble kits. Dobby looks cute.
Yeah lol I have zero restraint 😂 My friend even said if they ordered it differently it would've made more sense. I saw the Harry Potter release on IG .....I ordered it lol I love Dobby so it was a need 😂
Same! I think it would be cool if they came out with more characters. I love Dobby, and apparently wasnt the only one. The sock combo Dobby is sold out already. 😂
🥳 Thats fantastic! They would also be great for lapse videos if that was something you wanted to do again. The one you did for Kaida was so satisfying. 😊 I’m still a newb, but I did purchase that kit for when I get better. 😂
I definitely have some more crochet time lapses in the works :) lately I've been working on 2 birthday gifts and then I just got the yarn I need for my first commission project ☺️☺️ ekkk!!! But I ordered some of the winter Woobles to start those time lapses along with the calendar !! So I'll have a lot posting soon :) And just keep up the awesome work, this has been one of the most fun and rewarding hobbies I've learned.
I would not do this again. My hook was day 18 towards the end...just doesn't make sense. Stickers, red and green stitch markers, etc. A big disappointment not getting an actual character like Santa for example. I think they need to release teasers for the calendar next year so people have an idea of what to expect.
Agreed. I honestly was alittle upset when they released the Santa bundle with the gingerbread and elf because they could have one of the characters in the calendar. I was talking to my husband about it, like if they swapped the stickers and one other day in the calendar with the Santa character it would've made more sense. I definitely wouldn't purchase again because if I knew the Santa set was going to release I would've just purchased that instead. I really hope they see and actually listen to all the feedback they are getting across multiple platforms about this calendar so if they make another one in the future it'll hopefully be better executed.
I moved some of my drawers around. I didn't like the stickers getting curled up, and I put the fabric stocking in Christmas Eve because if I didn't find a stocking for my new old cat to have one next to her siblings, she could have that one.
it is a cute calander, but you have to wait 18 days to get a crochet hook... and then the last day is just stitch markers... i thought this was made for beginners mostly so the first say should have been a hook to do all those projects ... and that is a little expensive ... at least everything is Christmas themed
Agreed, I saw a post on FB where someone made a list of the order they should've been in to make more sense. To me it's going to be interesting to see if they gave enough stuffing for all the projects.
Cute but I would not want to deal with a bunch of tiny things. Even the Lego advent calendar bugs me with all the itty bitty builds. I can see people liking it,, just not for me.I also found it odd that the hook was towards the end, I would think it would be at the beginning as there may be some beginners out there that dont have any .
I actually added the outer branches during my 3 hour glucose test. Every time I look at it, I will remember each hour working on a different tier. (I passed and didn't feel nauseous, BTW)
Ok so this is super cute and I like it and see what they are going for; however, i'm ultimately glad I did not buy it because the 'tiny' stuff kills me; give me a GIANT snow man or something....I imagine you can hang all the decorations off the tree that you make so that is kinda cute but...I don't know if it is 125 dollars cute.
For a person starting out, it would be great. Or just to have something fun to open. I do agree that they could have done better. I personally would want more characters then little stuff.
thewoobles.com/products/a-woobly-wonderland-advent-calendar?_pos=2&_psq=ca&_ss=e&_v=1.0. They still have these in stock, I know it'd arrive mid way through but that's ok, still fun 😊
Woobles seems to be the perfect example of "beginner friendly" companies having no incentive to actually teach you the skills, because then you wouldn't be a beginner anymore and wouldn't be dependent on their product anymore. They need to keep people in this beginner "woobles" sphere. If it wasn't woobles branded, you could get everything in this box from Joanns for like $40. But they know then can rip people off cuz they're stuck in the Woobles sphere. No real yarn, no complicated patterns, no variety, no advancement. Only woobles now.
I'm going to heavily disagree with you on that. You can go see my Instagram for proof. I started with Woobles around the end of August and I have since progressed to making many different types of amigurumis using many different textures of yarns. A lot of people including myself still buy Woobles kits because we like the company. Are there times when I pass on a kit because I know I can make something similar for less absolutely but other times I purchase from them because I like the brand and I wanted to support them. But to say that the people who buy from them never make it past beginner is so untrue, had I never purchased from Woobles I would have never learned to crochet. I tried years ago and gave up because other forms of teaching material were confusing and I couldn't get it, but with Woobles I quickly learned because the videos they provided with the kit were extremely helpful and made it easy to understand. I will post a video tomorrow of all the things I've made since I started with Woobles so you can see that you are wrong in your statement.
In part you are paying for the packaging, which is actually pretty nice and I plan to reuse as an advent calendar next year. Also the surprise and convenience elements are part of the purchase. I didn’t get lost on Ravelry or Pinterest for 2 days going down a rabbit hole; I was presented with a number of cute projects and everything I needed to finish them without being overwhelmed online or at the craft store. So far I’m very happy with my purchase 😊
I started with the Woobles Kit, and I have only purchased the one, and have now expanded by using free patterns. 😊 I'm now making bootie slippers, beanies, intermediate Amigurumi, etc. and it all stemmed from learning from the Woobles. Many like to continue to purchase their packs and support them, or to collect everything, but I must say that $35 for my Woobles and their "crochet class" for the Woobles you are making, I learned A LOT!! I won't complain about their prices for a kit and a class. Please be aware when you buy a woobles kit, you are purchasing a class as well, even if you are an advanced crocheter. Their company is meant to teach beginners to crochet. Happy Crocheting Everyone!
I never heard of this company, but that much money is not worth the yard inside it. The packaging is adorable but I wouldn't give it to a beginner crochet. I read some comments and they express this was woobles' way of helping beginners and they offered a class. Wouldn't the hook and supplies like stitch markers go first. There should have been more yarn to compensate for mistakes.
