Thank you! With your video, I was finally able to learn how to drill the holes in order to attach the toggle switch! I appreciate your instructions.

Great video! Couple questions: is it possible to link up multiple bulbs on one piece of wood, all connected to the toggle switch? Also, is drilling with a handheld drill doable? I don’t have a drill press!

This is a great idea. I am going to make a couple of these for my son's college dorm. I will use the fake "edison" LED bulbs instead of an incandescent. Do you think that a standard socket will be fine?
@DIYMontreal
@DIYMontreal 7 лет назад
+R Doerr That's great, I'm sure your son will love them. I can't really comment on which type of socket would be ok (I'm not an electrician) but I went with a porcelain socket since it's my understanding that it acts as an insulator.

What did you do with that IKEA light socket that you took apart in an earlier video? Cool, minimalist light. I like it.

How much depth did you leave inthe block when you switched from the Forstner bit to the spade bit?
@DIYMontreal
@DIYMontreal 6 лет назад
Yes that’s the tricky part. You want to get as deep as possible without punching through. Maybe a quarter inch from the surface.

soldering could of been used here u would not had to run the power wire that long
@DIYMontreal
@DIYMontreal 6 лет назад
Sure that would work, I just don’t have a soldering iron or experience with soldering personally. This makes it more accessible to all.
@AndrewMurphy8383
