I really appreciate you explaining the burrs and there use. I just started power carving about 6 months ago and learning mostly by trial & error or RU-vid. I mostly do canes & walking sticks W/wood spirits on them. I use a WeCheer carver , B&D RTX & Dremell , all With flex shafts. I'm also a Vietnam vet and served there in 1968 , so carving keeps my mind busy. So thanks again for the tips and I'll be watching............ken in SC
Thanks for the kind words Ken. I have used flex shafts for many years and spent more time repairing them when they bound up. I think you would be very happy with a micro hand piece...any major brand would work fine. Make sure you get one that has interchangeable collects and then you will have all the burrs and bits at your disposal. Like you I find carving relaxing...winter, fire, tv background....nice. Keep carving V/r, Ben
@@StudioOnTheLake Thank you for replying , I'm looking at the micro's and perhaps I can sell off some of my HAM equipment & get a good one , i'll be watching.
@@SP4Parks I use JPL Enterprise (in Minnesota) Ultima combination micro carver base and wood burner... I run two of them one is 20 years old with a 30K speed handpiece, and the newer one has a 40K handpiece. The only thing I have ever serviced on them was two years ago JPL replaced the bearings and brushes in the 20 year old handpiece. The company is a one man operation. carvertools.com/

Hello, Yes I am currently in Denver, then Iowa for the next two weeks. Not sure why an old video popped up? Yes looking forward to April when I will start the studio re-build Ben
Davinci Resolve...was great when it was #15 we are on Beta 18.5. Hopefully they get it settled down. I film with a Cannon 70D, and then edit the scene as required. Thanks Ben
