Wood Inlay-No Talking-How to Woodworking

This is an easy to watch video on how I do my wood bow tie inlay. I don’t always want to hear an annoying commentator, so I left all the talking out of this one. No talking, just chopping... ok, it doesn’t rhyme, but it’s close. You may find this informative, relaxing, entertaining, or just enjoy the asmr sounds of the process. Thanks so much for watching, and let me know how I can improve in the comments!

Before you router out the center of the bow ties (inlay), if you chisel out (from the inside of the inlay) the edges of the inlay down to the bottom of the cutting marks, then chisel out to the edges of the inlay (after you have routered out most of the center) you will have a larger surface (wall) to set your chisel against to get it vertical. Nice video. Beautiful look of the black against the Walnut. Thanks for taking the time to post this.

Great video. Here's a tip: put "ASMR" in the title of these vids and more people will find your channel.

Sorry for my ignorance but was the black "strip" or "section" down the grain of the wood, epoxy?

Did it crack in the centre when you were hammering it in?

Looks very much like it, why so deep and fine sawdust to fill any gap?? Expensive timber like that should be cabinet maker quality. 7 out of 10 from me.

I didn`t intend to use this woodworking book, *TopFineWoodworking. Com* but instead curious about it. I had been truly amazed after trying it. It never dissatisfied me in my desire to have more information about the art of wood working. I discovered several topics such as wood types as well as designing your workshop..

I noticed that too, was wondering why not using a t-square to align in the sketch stage. But then at the end I saw it’s rough cut lumber, abd so this was an artistic/personal choice. magnificent craftsmanship! so soothing to watch. 👍👍 thanks for the great videos

@@BlacktailStudio Did anyone's OCD point out that the bowties aren't even necessary?

They stabilize the crack that was filled with epoxy. Very necessary.

now its easier to take a photo of the wood and make the splints invisible below clear epoxy layer
@Invoilabilis
@Invoilabilis 5 лет назад
The entire point is so you can clearly see those "splints" Much much much easier to hide the mending plates than to leave exposed

block may have prevented crack

I think it already cracked,he filled it up with resin
@TFPadmin
@TFPadmin 5 лет назад
@@mvdg2927 I think he's referring to the small crack in the bowtie. A block of wood over it to bang the mallet into might have prevented the crack. Unfortunately, the cracked bowtie kinda nullifies the effectiveness of the bowtie, to some extent.
@chrisbabbitt4202

Yeah I noticed that right when it happened. What is the option? Just dig the whole bowtie out and put in another?

Where are your tutorials grasshopper ? I really dislike people who would suggest that there are so many other ways to do what the this craftsman did as though its not anything special...justbecause you have nailed 2x4's together does not make you anywhere close to this type excellence. Must be lonely for you to wish you could do the same... but , like I said , let's see YOUR expertise...
