Not that I know of but keeping the temp set lower @100 degrees seems to work well. Some woods are going to crack regardless. Slower is better but the kiln is made for speedy drying. Thanks for stopping by.

I found an old chest type freezer in really good shape at an appliance shop. The man was taking the compressor out to be used in another one. He sold it to me for $10 but I gave him $20 because it was in such good shape. Question? do you only put one row of shelves in your kiln?

The best place is an appliance store that get rid of damaged units or Family & friends that are upgrading. Check on Facebook marketplace or your local thrift store. Many times you can get them for free. Hope this helps.

Are you turning your bowls at 10% moisture or less?

Hello. Yes, the kilns get the bowls down to @ 8% before I re-turn them. On occasion I will turn one @ 12% or less.
