Wood turning can be a dangerous hobby. Irish woodturning is a craft that is dying out and should be preserved so that the tradition of Wood turning in Ireland stays alive and well.

The tiger wood is beautiful! As far as shape vs. grain, I generally like to the wood grain be the star and not the form, shape or details.

What you did is awesome. What I would have done different is recessed all of the glass around the candles. But that's just me. Someday I hope to get some tiger wood.

Nice looking pair but I probably would have done a bit fancier with some curves not using beads though.

Yes curves can look very good as well and I totally agree with the no beads idea as it breaks up the natural flow of the grain. Shay

You can't go changing Shay's rule now! It often resonates through my head when I think about colouring a piece or adding some texture. Having said all that some times rules are to be broken and some very popular photographers made their name by breaking the rules of composition. Maybe just better to have Shay's principle! 😂 Cheers Dave
