wood turning pet urn

this is a pet urn i'm turning for a much loved pet. 'REX'
its made from mahogany with a walnut lid and base.
I've made the lid flat so the bereaved can fix on a name plate dog tag or something similar.
the music in the intro is by my son Jacob

Our fur babies are just like family and this is a fitting memorial. I'm thinking of making a few of these and letting my pet friendly families know. I'm also thinking of making a small pill box that the family can put some of the cremains in and attach it to a key chain and have "Rex" with them.

Nice video. I just tried to make a similar piece. That long tool you used at the bottom of the urn would've been handy. Is that custom?

Thanks...I have two they are custom....one is a square carbide cutter and the other is a piece if tool steel in a long handle...I found it hard going hollowing out oak that deep...thanks for watching 😀
