Jack Newman's shot went over the bar after 4 minutes but after 7 minutes from Ray's cross Luke Mallett Netted from close range to open the scoring for the Woodpeckers. Ray came close after 13 and 20 minutes to doubling the home sides lead and from Ryan Keeble's accurate cross Ray's header hit the bar after 25 minutes. Mallett's shot from 25 yards was tipped over for a corner by the away keeper on the half hour but Newman made it 2-0 after 36 minutes with a 20 yard shot which took a slight deflection. Ray's through ball after 42 minutes was met by Keeble and his effort from close range made it 3-0 at the break.
Keeble's superb first time effort from long range after 48 minutes increased the Woodpeckers lead to 4-0 and Mallett's shot went wide of the post but great credit to Scole who pulled a goal back a minute later and it was 4-1 in an entertaining friendly match and good to see Ray and Mallett back in action after recent knee surgery.
