This is Shorty from Shorty's Shop Old World Wood Shop. I like your comment about watching your DVDs. I don't want to make your head swell, but I believe you are the authority on Native American feature carving, and I stated so on my site. I also put a link to your site here so they can find you easier! Happy Carving.

Jim, you are the Bob Ross of wood carving, and I don't mean that in a bad way - it's your voice, it put it on to fall asleep to. On the other hand, I also love watching your videos! Thank you for sharing your wonderful work with us all. I aspire to carve like you do someday.

the best way to teach is n a piece of chalk for all those who are interested buy a box of sidewalk chalk and practice it is the taking away that forms, when doing a figure, look for the shadows and take away but make sure you go around the piece as you take away this will bring your art to one form in balance ,note are you sir working with pine wood looked soft

I guess I need to purchase some V tools... been putting it off because of the horrid dread of sharpening them. Just starting though... seems as though they are essential. Those eyes are creepy dude... they seem like glowing dead eyes on the video, like something you wouldn't want to encounter in a dark room haha
