Overwhelmed by the skillful craftsmanship and creativity of your carving, I found myself deeply immersed into the heart of a man who longed to feel the currents flowing beneath him; the breezes across his bow whispering a promise to carry him to a place where he could again come to find and know himself, as he had done so many times before. After watching your video I watched "Paddle to the Sea", and I can only imagine how Bill Mason would have appreciated the way that his work inspired you to create something that ultimately has the very real potential to inspire others. I thought Matty Mouse was gonna pull up beside you in his little motor boat. Matty was the coolest cause he had a motor boat even though most people think GP's jeep was pretty rad. Watched this video quite by accident but so glad i did. Im about your age with many of the same things in common. However no family left and very few friends. I have an upcoming aeortic valve replacement and triple bypass surgery coming I thought my days of outdoors, fishing, woodworking and general quality of life were over for sure. I couldnt have caught this little vid at a better time. It lifted my spirits and gave me hope. Made me feel not so alone and a lot less scared of whats coming. Thanks Doug.. Im gonna beat this thing.
