I never tire of watching and re-watching your videos. They bring so much peace and calm. So much Inspiration and a desire to be in the great wilderness. Your videos make me feel like i'm there. You're blessed to live where you are. Thanks for sharing with the rest of us.
Love your video, I just found your channel through Joe Robinet, your skills and woodcraft remind me of a modern day Mountainman, I will definitely be watching you! I'm an older woman who loves history and the past, I subscribe to a magazine here in the U.S.A. called " American Frontiersman" you receive two magazines a year full of very useful skills. Trapping, hunting, camping, cooking, making cordage, buckskin clothes, longbows, arrows, flintlocks, etc. etc. The last one I received a 22 yr. old young man transformed a 2000 lb. 14 ft. American basswood log into an easy handling dugout canoe weighing 180 lbs. using forged hand tools he made himself, now that is a lot of carving using axes and other hand tools all because he wanted to make it like our pioneers from the 1700s. This took him 5 months total and that included letting it dry before bringing it down to its final thickness, and finished it by sealing with beeswax heated, hot linseed oil, and finally, beeswax combined with a little bit of pine resin to harden it. What a beautiful job he did on it, and like I said I love, love this magazine! P.S. I am not associated with this magazine in any manner.
I love the NO talk just action, the sound of the woods and the sound of steel on timber, being a retired carpenter from the land of ireland i really appreciate your tool skills, great video keep up the good work :)
Beautiful, inspirative and relaxing video - as usual. Merry Christmas to you and your awesome dog. Thanks for some great videos in 2018 - looking forward to following you in 2019. All the best from Morten
This is your classic setup. Its so cool. some goodies in there my friend...when you zoomed and walked with the logs towards the camera and then sudden cut to the birds in the sky...wow, love that. Merry Christmas Don!
Hello and thank you for this moment shared, I am more specialized in the expeditions in wooden canoe, to you to look at I often find myself in the same circles quite as well and very pleasant of tranquility. A great caress to your four-legged companion who looks, with a different color to mine. Thank you Tom de France
3.40 The best axework I have ever seen (outside of competition footage!) Not one wasted blow, perfection! When you started to make your spoon I did start saying "no, no, too much, no, stop" but in the end you got it. Great knifework and a great result. I can only blame your camera work for making me doubt you. Another subscriber and several thumbs up!
Thank you very much. I love using an axe. I dont hit where i want every time, but by resting my elbow at my knee or side helps to make it more accurate. :)
Love your films. They are so relaxing and enjoyable. I use these films for my meditation and well being, if I can’t get out into the woods myself, so thank you
Increible........ he hecho cosas parecida pero sin tu equipamiento.... Lo del Pedernal nunca lo probe, pero cuando termine esta pesadilla me voy tomar esos tiempos..... saludos des de Cordoba ..Argentina
DonVonGun : Hello ! I like your video how you find a spot to camp , then get right down to setting up your shelter including accessories , to make it more comfortable all in the " Silence is Golden " mode !!! This allows us to only hear you working away while taking in the beautiful landscape scenery , yes its like a breath of fresh air !!! Thanks Scarboro/Tom Merry X-mas & Happy Bushcraft Year 2019
Super glad to have found your channel! Never seen anyone use a tripod to build a shelter and a fire reflector like you did in this video. Very clever! Happy camping
Saudações, Vídeo muito bom! Ao assistir, parece que estamos no acampamento! Aliá o canal é excelente e já nos inscrevemos! Parabéns pelo canal! Abraços do Sul do Brasil, Fernando e Kauan
Thanks :D haha!! Spent the christmas with my family. Tried to get out of it a couple of years ago. But they didn't think it was as good an idea as me. Now I dont even dare thinking about spending it in the woods. But I held New year with Rune Bertram. We had some very hyggelige days. Happy new year. :)
There's a lot to be said for pure effort without all the noise of recitations and thought-sharing. Good stuff, sir. Subbed. Happy Holidays from Hawaii.
Thank you very much. Its a good thing to use soft wood, when starting to carve. Always sharp tools, and careful where to put your fingers. :) Good luck.
I love how you edited the sticks !!!!! that's my favorite activity braking sticks & piling sticks, you funny man ,with a funny dog, with a tuxedo on. There ought to be books written& beautifully illustrated with U2. Man & dog. Dancing in the freezing moonlight to stay warm. Or maybe a song.... either one you two are poetry&heart and i for one thankyou always...that dog is so cute, coat&tail dressed up for ball hahaha. Thankyou again
DonVonGun someone once said laughter is the best medicine. I live to make you smile, remember this, something always smells funny somewhere! Happy New Year 2 U2 !
Incrível!!! Aprendi mais um pouco com você, visto amar acampar de forma meio rústico. Feliz 2019 e aguardando novos vídeos. Um abração à você e em seu cãozinho.
