Great! For more visibility of your great ideas, I could imagine you create shorts where people quickly see the function of the tool you've invented instead of making them wait until the end of a video. The ones interested in the build can check the full length video. Thank you for inspiring me. Greetings from Germany

As usual, this is an amazing build! In order to make your saw blades last longer and to cut tougher materials, you would typically *increase pressure and reduce cutting speed* - I would therefore suggest to make a holder on top that can take weight disks (like ones you see in a gym)

Сегодняшняя самоделка из разряда сомнительных. Честно говоря, не ожидал от автора такой ерунды.

I would have attached the gas cable where it does not move and attached a weight above the saw so that the saw blade worked itself into the material.
@ricejm01
@ricejm01 9 месяцев назад
Or better omit the cable altogether, set a constant speed on the drill, swap the drill to a corded drill, add a depth rod that toggles a electrical on/off switch. Just like most power hacksaw’s and bandsaws have. So it can be set it and forget it. The other flaws with this videos design is no guides to insure straight cutting

Apart from the fantastic tools you create and the precision you work with, I think the best bit about your videos is that I start out without a clue about what you about to do, that usually continues through the video until near the end, at which point it all suddenly falls into place and seems so obvious ... superb as usual 👍 I've seen you use the bicycle lever to control the speed of a drill before, it's such a simple but brilliant idea 😍
@kleckerklotz9620
@kleckerklotz9620 9 месяцев назад
Nice idea. But I would change a few things. 1) Detach the handle from the saw. Your hand introduces micro movements, which will result in less accurate cuts and more wear and tear to the joints. 2) Add some weight on top of the saw to compensate for the forces your hand was responsible for. 3) Add a bracket to the drill so that the axis of the drill is stabilised. At 17:40 you can see the drill vibrating a lot. That's bad. 4) Add some screws to your axle brackets. Now all the forces go through glue. Wood glue is pretty strong. But it's not made for shearing forces. Anyway, good first prototype. Keep it up.

In General a good idea but put some weight on the upper platform, remove the "gashandle" and build a knopp aside the machine to regulate the speed. While the machine is sawing you have time to do other things! Greatings from Germany!

I like it! The neat thing about this tool is that it can much more precisely than one can do by hand or even in a vise. I'd have to do a lot of sanding or filing afterwards to get the edges square. That alone is a time saver.
@TY1979KA

I like the idea. Not sure if I'm happy about the device using only 50% of the saws teeth. you could probably get around it, if you are able to turn the saw blade, which would make it a pull instead of a push. what I really like is its speed adjustment. this might be handy for introducing less heat and for materials which are usually less easy to saw.
@GuardTower
@GuardTower 9 месяцев назад
I think turning the blade wont matter because the one doing the push and pulling would be the drill instead of your hands. the speed adjustment is also there... he is just pulling the bike break to its max pull instead of gently starting it. so if you want to speed control it you can just gently squeeze on the break just like when you gently pull on the drill trigger i would put some changes tho~ instead of a bike break, i would make it a foot pedal so that i wont accidentally squeeze on it too tight and the drill suddenly goes full speed on me when i want it to slow down I would also put some kind of alignment on the hacksaw side so that it wont sway as much whiles its being pulled back and forth I also wonder if you can use gears instead of the offset arm for higher torque

If You can build a Japanese handsaw armcut to go really straight with mm precision, would be great! Thanks...

@nelsvantoor5159
@nelsvantoor5159 9 месяцев назад
Nice build, but it could be better: Having the handle reciprocating is a bit awkward; not exactly ergonomic... If you implemented a guided bar to mount the "throttle" to, you'd get a stable handhold. Much easier on your joints. This bar could run above the blade-carrier, pivoting on the back-end and being guided between bearings near the front. And you can make it as fancy as you like from there... ;-)

@@RodrigoDoBrasilIt's more complicated to guide the saw if your hand is moved by the engine. The angle of the saw is given by the jig, it would be useful to make the holder even stiffer or longer.

you started well! with quality bearings and good quality raw material ! This invention of yours called manual Powerhacksaw ! the result you did was not very good ! 1 - you forgot the counterweight so that the saw lowers as it continues cutting 2 - to attach the drill you ended up making a more complicated system ! 3 - the WORST part is you end up with your shoulder joint and your elbow holding the trigger! in 1 week you will wear out all your ligaments ! 4 - you have made a very large saw with only 10% of blade usage cutting capacity ! I want to see more videos of you on how you would improve knowing now the mistakes you made. I really want to see version 2.0 of this project! a more portable, efficient saw, capable of cutting at 45° angles, with a counterweight, using more saw capacity, and with the drill being easier to remove, place!
