I am so fascinated with this place. The history is amazing. I wish it would be restored! I would love to take pictures of the inside.

i wish someone with alot of money would come in and buy it and restore it, if it could still be restored! i hate to see historic places, especially places that did good for people in this world!

A few lawyers own that Property and they are not going to do anything with that Building. They just bought it for the land hoping a Walmart will buy the land for Millions. Its basically a investment.

My family has been here (in Sherman) since at least the late 40's. It's sad that folklore and school yard rumors are so far off from what this place was originally was. The actually history is a lot nicer than the rumors. I love haunted stories as much as the next person but this was such a beautiful idea and passion it makes me sad that'it's been let decayed and vandalized.

I have loved this place since i moved from league city to whitesboro in 79. I remember seeing it sitting there, in all it's glory as i was passing thru sherman, on my way to my new home in whitesboro. I was 15. It absolutely amazes me to see it & hear the happy memories people had there. I have never won the lottery or that home would have been my first purchase. I was lucky enough to enjoy a portion of it on many occasions, when someone had bingo there. I went as often as i could, just to sit

I can remember back driving on 1417 on a Saturday about 1pm and saw smoke coming from the Pennsylvania building. When we got home which was only a mile away we called the Fire Dept. Didn't take long before they arrived to put the huge fire out.. But sadly is was enough to destroy the building inside and roof. I wish someone would so something with the building.. Its so sad when you drive by. I use to help watch the building and if those walls could talk who all we caught inside.. IT'S A SHAME

I've seen Woodmen Circle for 20 years and fell in love with it the first time I laid eyes on this beautiful place.Seeing and hearing the history makes it all that more grand. Will there be another chance to vist it in the future? I found out about it to late this year, so I hope they will do this again.

When I was a little boy, we would come to Sherman a few times a year to visit my grandparents and aunts, uncles and cousins. My sainted grandmother would tell me, each time we were within sight of the old Home, that this was where she intended to spend her last years. You didn't quite make it, Grandma, and neither did the home..

Has there ever been any kind of fundraiser put together to try to clean and rebuild? Maybe they could make it something for women again?

The place feels creepy now...Maybe it’s not “haunted”, but I’ve been a few times (illegally) and always worried some crazy methhead is gonna jump out at me. Because, y’know, it’s Sherman (no offense).
