This is the story of Linda Robertson, a former employee of the now abandoned Woodmen Circle Home in Sherman Texas. For more information, please visit andyhemail.wixsite.com/woodme... Created by Andy Henderson www.andyhenderson.co
This makes me wish I had the money to renovate the old place. Seeing so many once nice buildings in ruins or being torn down has always been a bit painful to see.
My Mother and my two Uncles lived at the home. They adored Mrs. Tally and the home. They must have thrived because they all graduated from college and had nice lives. Thank you for a wonderful video, and thank you Woodmen’s Circle for caring for three lonely children.
Great video. Thank you. My mother grew up at the Woodmen Circle Home. She had a lovely childhood there. Missy, the lady who ran the home, was loved by my mom. Linda Robertson was also a friend of my mom’s.
When working trouble tickets at the apartment complex just to the north of the property we always tried to get in and out before dark. There was an eight-foot fence between the Home and the apartment complex. At sundown or after, you would see people in the windows, hear noises, and see lights moving inside the building. You did your business and got the hell out after dark.
I literally live next door to this Woodmen Home. Been living here 8 years now and have seen a lot of people go in there exploring the place. (My wife and I explored too when we first moved in 8 years ago. Really neat inside!)
Great video that showcases this hidden gem! I love that it incorporates an interview and music track that fits the video. This is the first abandonment/urbex video I've seen with this style...I hope you produce more!
Really awesome video!! I am from Dallas and enjoyed learning some history about a nearby place that I didn't even know existed! Your format with the explorative photos of the site + the interview footage was phenomenal!! So often when watching these videos, there seems to be no one around who can speak to the history of the place, and we are left with many questions. Seriously good work; a step above anything else I've seen...Bravo...def gonna sub...look forward to more content from you... :)
All they did was take our names and told us to never come back or we’ll be arrested. It’s probably as close as I ever came to being in trouble with the law. 😂
I just love it that you have an original person that spent time at the place. When I visit my brother next in Texas I'm going to see if we can find her and have her give us the tour and discussing her experiences.
I was about to say that the house is haunted ,but she said that this one it wasn´t haunted . The old lady sounds like a nice person . Pretty cool this video .
Ask the people that go hunting in it at night since the 90s, the properties around it are ridden with trauma a lot of souls have cams and gone through this place over time with a lot of bad energy and toxic vibes went into its history. Maybe not when she worked there but since it’s been abandoned there’s been a lot of crazy stories.
I just happened upon this place today searching the area for abandoned railroads and bridges. Perhaps I'll get out there one day before it's gone. Such a beautiful film. Great work!
This is so sad. My family has been in Grayson county for roughly 100 years. To see such a beauty defaced and falling down is bad enough but the rumors will only keep it going.
Wow, I always wondered what had happened with Woodmen's Circle even after passing it up from time to time when I would visit my relatives. I'm from Sherman and my biggest memory was when they had turned it into a haunted attraction during Halloween (back in the 1980s) I was in either 3rd or 4th grade (Wakefield Elem) at the time. I had gone with my Aunt and some of her friends and I just remember being so scared so I stayed outside. Then we ended up going around to the side of the house which was more scary and I just remember hearing a chainsaw and everybody took off running back toward the front...lol I laugh about it now because I'm way older. Kinda hate that they could not preserve or restore the building. There was so much history there. Thank you Andy for making this video!
I grew up on a farm just west of here. It had a water tower on it with the words Jesus Saves on the side of it. The two somehow seemed to go together..I walked past this place all the time when i was kid too..I even had a desk my mom bought for me from a sale they had here in the early 70's.
Found my way into this place last Sunday morning at dusk and man it’s quite beautiful in the gloomy weather. I did get a sense of heaviness in the air and the only noise I heard came from a goose that had flown in from a part of the ceiling that was deteriorating.
@@TrevorKombat I've got stories that would blow your mind, I can see them sometimes, not this place but houses I have lived in and other places, usually I just see orbs around me protection from something.
@@TrevorKombat someone called me a seer, but I need to learn how to advance I seem to be loosing my ability, I know of a few places houses, and they are lived in, I just don't want to ask they will think I'm crazy.
very cool video, its nice to know more of the history. ive filmed there and it was amazing. but the poison ivy was something else. if you ever want to explore somewhere andy, just let me know
RU-vid isn't the place to ask. You should drive to Sherman and do a little detective work. When you're there, you can present your credentials and purpose.
Keeper of the Second [Urban Exploring] in my life i always see who already pass Is this house remains someone spirit I would see it the first day this is what happen to me when ever I go to some where new
I'm so excited to see Linda again. How many I get hold of her? I meet her through the Police Dept because I was always racing my cars. We became close friends till I moved away in the 90s. She took several of my friends to the home when I worked for Melrose Tappan. . She was so much fun to talk too.
It's sad to see such a grand building going to ruin. If there are any ghosts then they are there because it was a happy place to them when they was alive.
I would totally sign a waver to get some pictures of this place maybe as a person who is passionate about the history of modern civilizations I would love to document it with pictures and video
I think it’s a waste of space I pass it almost every day going into town. If I could afford buying this place I would develop it with apartments that people could afford. And maybe an open market. We used to sneak into the place when I was a kid, never heard any strange noises other than wild animals scratching around.
Great short documentary.. "Wealthy women would turned their entire wealth over to the Supreme Forest Woodmen Circle" WOW!!!! Sounds very lucrative for that group.....
I remember it was set up as a haunted house (maybe sponsored by the Jaycee's?) one Halloween years ago. I went out there, but was too scared to go inside. That was several years after the cult had left.
I come from a long line of brick manufactures in my family and I think that brick came from The Texas Brick Co. in Brownwood Tx. My Grandfather purchased it in 1974 and my father ran it till 1982.
Andy Henderson! Absolutely what i want in a video. Great angles and captures. We often thought about doing interviews with people about the places we go into. My team and I saw this and we had to subscribe. Check our channel and subscribe. Check it out and please help us with our angles and what not.Good luck and keep them coming!
As of 5-9-22 only a few walls of the far west building are still standing. Everything else has been demolished. I expect the last of the final building to be down by the end of the week.
secret societies are bad mojo all around I was walking through a cemetery in the middle of nowhere just two days ago and I heard a scream and yes it had a woodsman headstone carved from marble or granite
