Turning a Vessel from Tulip wood/Poplar .. This piece of tulip was quite bland so I thought I would try and Jazz it up a bit with my simple attempt at gourd art ..

20 years ago I had a lathe. And after creating candles for all my family I finaly sold it to a furniture restotator. Had I seen this and all the other beautiful art you make, I would never have sold it. I never thought that this was possible.

Andy, I Absolutely LOVE this Tulip vessel. I have to say it is now one of may favourite wood pieces ever, with its simple clean lines,the addition of the black and all that detail you put in it, just Stunning. Thank you for a wonderful piece and show. I loved it.💜📐💜

I must admit, I always imagined poplar was unsuitable for woodturning, I’ve always refused offers of free timber. I’ll know better next time. A beautiful outcome!

Thanks William..I'm not a fan myself really ..always think it needs colour or something to help it out 'if you know what I mean ' just normally use it for painted cabinet frames ..cheers Andy

I was always the guy cringing when someone would start embellishing their turning. "Let the beauty of the wood be the art" I would say. Well, you have changed my outlook on this. That vessel is PERFECT!!! It's just the right amount of added detail. I applaud you, sir!

Oh my goodness me, I wanted to cry when I saw the black spray being added... Oh me of little faith... This piece is absolutely stunning! Truly, truly beautiful! 🖤 I keep checking your etsy store for new pieces being added. It will be a one time purchase but I think I'll know the piece I want when I see it x
