I am still learning woodturning and today I took a bit of gnarly old fire wood out the fire basket and was pleasantly surprised with what was beneath.
I still need to work on my technique as I turn wood but there is definitely improvement since my first wood bowl. The wood lathe is fast becoming my friend!

Also, today I chopped and processed some yew tree blanks so I will have something a bit nicer to work with than firewood - although to be fair if the result is like this I'll be happy.
