There’s something strangely satisfying watching dried resin flying around like the inside of a cotton candy machine. Your craftsmanship is not only fun to watch, but your pieces are unique creations.
i don't get why people are mad about the pencils being "wasted": they're not wasted at all! they're being used to make art, that's what they're for! just because it's a different kind of art than their intended use doesn't make it any less beautiful, imo
I'm always amazed how well you eyeball curves. Of course, you've had years of practice, but it still amazes me. Thank you for another great project. And thank you for more Silly String! 😁
Thank you for showing how this is done. My law partner had one of these mezmorizing things in his office as part of just cool & Crazy things to see. I have looked at it for 34 years wondering how cool it would be to see it made. After countless, hours of thinking stimulus I now know. It feels like reaching the top of a huge hike. Refreshing, and complete. You do grand work. Perhaps it is the next $60,000.00 crazy piece of art yet another office monkey will buy from you. Just simply incredible idea.
I finished a 2000 piece jigsaw puzzle during quarantine. This guy. Made this beautiful work of art. I'm less excited about my accomplishment now. Awesome.
I love how you take time to show us even seemingly mundane parts of the process. No loud music, no flashy edits, just a man doing what he loves! And as usual, it was epic. The moment you dropped all those pencils, I knew it was going to be awesome!
I mean whats wrong with being proud of your work. Not that im trying to prove you wrong but I think its kinda shading people who like taking selfies with their works, like saying theyre boastful in a way
@@Subayai0 We can all each have a different opinion on it, that's what makes the world go 'round. This is my take on it, you have a right to your take as well. :) I was just brought up to never talk about your accomplishments and to let others compliment you.
yep that happens to any and all woods whenever you apply any type of sealer or protective layer. It brings out the true color of the wood. So beautiful.
Exactly! I was trying to formulate my thoughts but I failed (because English isn't my native language). And now I see your comment which says exactly what I wanted to say!
@@r6sterling1 You do realize "boomer" refers to the Baby Boomers, right? Your grandparents and maybe even your own parents would be the boomers. People in their early twenties to mid thirties don't count.
My dad's been doing woodturning since 2015 or so, and I have to say that this is the most impressive woodturning thing I have EVER seen on the internet.
My little ones want to know how many colored pencils were used so badly. I just don't have the patience to count them all. Same thing goes with the globe. We love your videos!
I also didn't have the patience to count, but based on light counting and estimation... about 700-1000! Pretty big range so maybe someone more patient than me will actually count :)
Notice how the 6 sides of the pencils all fit perfectly together, like honeycombs. Hexagon has found to be the most efficient shape to maximise space-saving etc.
@@joshamaru481 so? With the caps lock i am assuming you are either pissed about something i said or you try to make highlight your entire reply and i fail to understand why
Look at the end product: The outter pencils (that get the most sheared off their sides) are, for the most part perfect. i.e. Evenly trimmed, to what must be mm, consistant depth (that is, even where the color part thins/thickens on the edge - we're talking prob less than a mm of variance). And this is done by hand. The care and detail in even the mundane tasks of centering the tools & piece are simply amazing.
@Tom AcM Do you own, or ever used a lathe? Unless that wood lathe can auto center in a way that my Southbend and Monarch can only do with the six-jaw chuck and some luck (i.e. perfect w/o need for breaking out the dials), then trust me, user skill is a factor. That said, perhaps this was done off screen; still did a damn good job.
me: OOO pretty donut also me, an artist who's favorite medium is colored pencils: hggggg (but seriously this is beautiful and the video itself is super calming)
As an artist: seems kinda wasteful... As an appreciator of art: I can see no possible better use for colored pencils. The appreciator of art side wins out
First of all: How is it staying together Second of all: Why does it look like a bad video game texture Third of all: Why Fourth of all: I am glad that this exists
I wonder how he bought all these pencils. Did he just ended with some store's pencil stock? Also, bruh, that's really good, and like, i think it's really creative, i never thought that someone could ever do a donut with pencils.
@ELISHA BAUTISTA It can be called epoxy, resin or epoxy resin but they're all understood to be the same thing with slight variances. They all require mixing parts together to get a final product but epoxy generally sets up and hardens much faster then resin. About an hour or so for epoxy and upwards of 12 hours for resin. In the end however the results should be about the same. The setup/curing time will determine which you'll want to use for your projects.
Did you eyeball the whole thing or did you take measurements off camera? Either way its impressive as anything but if this was eyeballed to be perfect, that would blow my mind.
Ean Stan from what I can tell the measurements were made on camera, that little wooden piece that had a semi-circle cut into it is the measuring device. He might have measured it more when he was getting close but I wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t or didn’t do it much
I would like to ask, HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO CLEAN THAT CRAP. And please a moment of silence for the strong rubber bands who fought to keep those pencils United together.
I can’t be the only one tat wants to get the biggest sharpener in the world and see if it’d work on this and what colour(s) tip it would be and possibly try colouring with it
I really enjoy your videos. I make sure to watch the FULL AD every time one pops up so you get more money!!!!! These videos take you DAYS to prepare, so I figure we should ALL give you a couple minutes!! Keep up the great work, and thank you.
I think it's visual ASMR, it's satisfying to watch someone who's excellent at their craft create something. At least that's my hypothesis on why I watch stuff like this. :)
As a teacher (who loves pens & pencils), I absolutely LOVE this!! Wow. I just can’t believe the amount of work that you put into all of your work. Thank you for showing us! How did you get the idea of using wooden colored pencils?
