Cool design and nice execution. The handrail looks pretty flimsy, though. I think I’d put it on the other side where it can be attached more firmly. Thanks for making the plans free! I really enjoy your channel!
cool ! but remember that stairs only work for him and me, super light asian ! lol, if your weight above 70kg, i think you'll need more strong connection than depends only hinges and screw, but his works realy cool🔥
Ron den Breems He doesn’t need the stairs for his space. He is demonstrating how is can be done for those who don’t have the space. He deserves credit because you and I would not have thought of it.
Because just putting a step ladder there wouldn't of made a video worth uploading, yet by making an over engineered piece of tat he managed to stretch it to an 8+ min vid. 😉
Gracias. Saludos desde Caracas, Venezuela.
I think your creations are very cool, clever and I totally think your a genius. That said, I would find these stairs impracticle as i would just leave them down all the time. Of course if something is stored beneath the stair that you will need access to relaively often, then they make lots of sense.
I like every video you do but sorry the design on this does not cut it all the weight is on the screws.this should not be copied or replicated without reworking it so the weight rest on the stringer.
@@vinnyd39 I woundered why you said that, so lol, googled translated to this "Found only on Korean sites. There are now similar ones on aliexpress" - So I concur, that sucks, unless you order from aliexpress
Ozzy maybe Ozzy. But I built an A frame for my young family and as we could afford it we put a second floor in it for bedrooms. Then an attic to give ceiling for those bedrooms. Access to the attic was a retractable staircase......tell us about your experience...
Same thing i was thinking. All those little screws are side loaded with a person's weight. This looks like disaster after the first time you run down them
if you look closely, the screws are going into both along and perpendicular to the grain. The question is where to get this kind of hinge as this is the first time I've seen such a hinge.
These are “wrap” or “wraparound” hinges. When both sides wrap it is a “double” or “back to back” “wrap or “wraparound” hinge. There are different kinds, and not all will work.
Interesting design, well made, but I don’t understand why this loft needs a folding stair. Doesn’t look like a very trafficked corner of the room. Feels a little design for design’s sake. This is creating a problem to solve it, not problem solving. But again, nice design. Inalso don’t understand why you have to glue boards together. Can’t you buy the proper materials?
Doesn’t matter. The design is flawed because the weight is on the screws. The “bumping” that takes place when people go up and down (especially down) will eventually have one or more of the steps fail.
Gracias.
Excellent video and great design. Thanks for taking the time to present this so professionally and to share your ideas with an audience. I feel that some of your subscribers may be missing the point with some of your creations. Many are just show casing design ideas and creativity. We can choose to steal your ideas and creativity to fit our own personal needs. The design and creativity doesn't need to stop with your version of a creation. Given that initial vision, your vision, we are allowed to tweak and improve as we see fit. As for a practical use for these stairs.... I have a very small downstairs closet in one of my bedrooms. In the ceiling of that closet space is an attic access opening. I don't need to go up there very often, just every 3 months to change a furnace filter. I don't need stairs hogging up needed storage space 24x7. I also don't like carrying up a heavy step ladder every time I need to get up there. For the few times I need access, clear a space for the ladder to unfold into and use the permanent folding ladder. Great solution for my specific use. Wonderful.
