I have a 2022 650 VR1 with a Storm 150 track. It was very twitchy when I got it. I put navigators on first. They definitely helped. Then I put the Maverick 6in bars on it was better but still not settled. Then I put 230 igrip studs in. That settled it. I trail ride mostly. I think that storm track being two heights with about half of it touching in firm conditions is what was causing most of the unsettled movement. Being as its 1.5 in the middle and 1.25 on the edges. Now it's a different sled enjoyable to ride. Studs are more for lateral stability than traction for me.

Reduce ski pressure by lengthening the front track limiter strap and adding some tension on the front track shock spring. This will lighten ski pressure. Works well. If that doesn’t work, then try these gizmos
@JESSEJAMES322
@JESSEJAMES322 Год назад
yea but then you have no ski pressure to turn and will push through every corner

I ran woodys dualies, the bergstroms, now I’m running Snowtracker, all have their good and bad points but so far the Snowtrackers I like best, but 3:43 you have to be careful in low snow conditions cause they cut deep and catch objects, this maybe a nice compromise to calm the darting still have good steering and not cut as deep
@JESSEJAMES322

low snow youll catch a stiff with anything ski/carbide

Yep. I know it's not a carbide. Just wondering if it acts like a dully going down a trail. Helps with not darting. :)

I definitely can attest to these navigators I'm going on my 4th season 3 of which Ive had studboy 9 inch shapers with these navigators with close to 4000 miles on them!! All I did for this year was sharpen my carbides with that bite harder bit!! And they absolutely protect the front of the carbides and skis👍👍As far as darting if the trail is that iced and packed nothing is going to stop the darting!! 👍👍

Really like your content, thank you! woodys has a good product but very popular. Sometimes so they are unavailable maybe a segment on other recommendation too I'd love to hear your thoughts. Recently, i was in this position and switched to Stud Boy, honestly I don't know if I'll ever go back to Woodys. Either way thanks for the great Vids!

Woodys makes quality products no doubt but I really like Bergstrom triple points with the ski shims they have worked great and lasted a long time for me. I would like to hear your and Bruce’s opinion on ski shims they definitely work I’m just wondering why sleds come from the factory to where they wear the front of the skeg and not the whole skeg?
@JESSEJAMES322

shimming is a must for stock skis. we have no idea why they dont fix that but we do recommend doing it!

Because these are lower to the ground than the ski, do they cause carbides to not cut as deep?
@JESSEJAMES322

nope the carbides are still same depth. just the front wont be as deep but that will not effect performance

Great video, thank you. I've been running Woody Slim Jims since 2019 on my Indy XCs. They definitely eliminate darting, however, it feels like there is more push with them. Any thoughts on how you would you compare the Navigators with a single runner vs the Slim Jims push wise? Thanks!
@JESSEJAMES322
@JESSEJAMES322 Год назад
you are getting push because of the slim jims. they are dividing the pressure per square inch. Go to a maverick or square bar and you will get rid of some of that!

Great Vids!!! I have a 2022 VRI 850 137- what skies do I have? I would like to order the Navigator but it lists 2 different Polaris skies. Pro-steer or Polaris Gripper? Are all the Navigators for Polaris the same? Thanks,
@JESSEJAMES322

i do not believe if they are the same. The pro-steer and Gripper are for sure different. if you have a trail sled you have a pro-steer

@@JESSEJAMES322 Most people like some kind of balanced steering. I don't care how fast I'm going, when I turn I want the sled to turn. If it flips me off from the G force. I don't care. I want it to turn. Snow Trackers are by far the most aggressive steering solution on the market. Not for everyone. But definitely my cup of tea.
@JESSEJAMES322
@JESSEJAMES322 10 месяцев назад
Idk if they’re the most aggressive. You have your woodys big square bar and the mavericks that’s a insane aggressive which is what I run. Some don’t like that, just like you I went It to turn when I turn, which is why I run big C&A’s and big carbides along with tons of ski oressure

False Larry. I have Bergstrum shims and the navigators for sure help with darting.
@newpylong
@newpylong 11 месяцев назад
The shims just level your skegs out which definitely helps but the Navigator's flatten the snow out, shimming AND Navigators are a great combo.
