Woolworth Department Stores 1982 TV commercial 

Man, I loved Woolworths, back in the day!! There was nothing like going to MB Mall in Oakland, CA on a Saturday afternoon hanging out with my brother and sisters. I remember buying my pet fishes and a lot of my LJN WWF and Remco AWA action figures from there. Those were the best of times and I miss them very, very much!!

I was in a lot of Woolworths back in the 70's and 80's and I can honestly say I never saw one that looked like that.

our Woolworths had a food counter I used to sit and drink Cokes there after I walking around in the store

How I miss these stores :( This looks like an awfully classy Woolworth! Complete with the grandmotherly figure as a sales clerk that seemed to always work in their stores. I knew that Woolworth started and owned Foot Locker, but the background in the shot of the father and son looking at shoes looks like the walls in early Foot Locker stores and the brands shown are PUMA and adidas. I'm curious if some Woolworth stores had Foot Locker shoe departments in some of their stores. Thank you for posting this!

Times were great back then stores were great back then, workers cared about their customers. Not today. Woolworth, Jefferson Ward, Kmart, Ames, JamesWay, were all great stores. never had a problem with their service , they were always respectful and helpful. Wal-Mart and target service sucks. They're rude and ignorant when you ask them something. Especially the young millennials. They know nothing about work

The salesclerks were mostly slender young women who all appeared to be more than six feet tall, until I realized that they were standing on platforms.

I miss woolworths. You could get anything from clothes to pets
